Week 13 Power Rankings

CBS (32. Lions:  They have known a lot of heartache this season, but that's what happens to bad teams. The offense is limited.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-week-13-power-rankings-all-seems-right-as-packers-buccaneers-chiefs-and-bills-earn-spots-in-top-10/

USA Today (32. Lions (32): You have to wonder if coach Dan Campbell, who's now calling offensive plays, has taken on too much in his zeal to crack the win column. Detroit's timeout management – or lack thereof – on Thanksgiving would suggest more delegation from Campbell is in order.):  https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/columnist/nate-davis/2021/11/30/nfl-power-rankings-week-13-2021-packers-patriots-buccaneers/8801783002/

NFL.com (32. Lions (Previous rank: No. 32):  The Lions find ways to lose. Six holding penalties by the offensive line. A coverage bust on one touchdown. The mind-numbing (and illegal) double timeout that helped doom them in the final minutes. Dan Campbell has his team fighting hard week after week, but it’s not just the players who need to learn how to close out a game. The miscommunications and mental errors reflect poorly on the coaching staff, and when you combine them with a roster bereft of elite talent, well, that’s how you get to 0-10-1. “These guys, they’re fighting their tails off,” Campbell said after Thursday's 16-14 loss to the Bears. “But until we get out of our own way, we won’t quite get over the hump.”):  https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-week-13-2021-nfl-season

ESPN (32. Detroit Lions (0-10-1) (Previous ranking: 32.  Week 6 confidence rating: 2.5.  How it's going now: 2.0):  I honestly don't have much confidence at all in this team. Winning a single game is still a question mark. It has a lot to do with the offensive playcalling since coach Dan Campbell has taken over and just the overall talent on the roster. The Lions continue to play hard, even being 0-10-1, but I don't trust them to close out a game. Even quarterback Jared Goff acknowledged after the Thanksgiving Day loss to Chicago that this team has to "learn how not to lose," with self-inflicted mistakes and penalties in crucial moments. -- Eric Woodyard):  https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/page/NFLpowerranking1130/nfl-power-rankings-week-13-1-32-poll-plus-checking-team-confidence-rating

Yahoo (32. Detroit Lions (0-10-1, Last Week: 32):  Dan Campbell doesn't have a lot to work with but any 0-10-1 coach is going to get criticism, and him calling timeouts back-to-back against the Bears and being penalized for that doesn't help. “I get the texts and I get the calls, ‘Hey man, hang in there,’” Campbell said, according to MLive. “And so it’s like the more that I get, the more I know there is chatter. I know there’s chatter out there. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be getting all of these calls out of the blue or these texts. I know that, and look, as far as being warranted, when you don’t win a game, I should be getting criticized. I don’t blame anybody for that." ):  https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-power-rankings-rams-didnt-go-all-in-this-season-to-be-mediocre-141851371.html

SN (32. Detroit Lions 0-10-1 (32):  The Lions have started to drag down opponents with them as their defense has overachieved of late, but unfortunately, their limited offense hasn't been able to take advantage of it to produce a win and now D'Andre Swift is hurt.):  https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-power-rankings-patriots-49ers-buccaneers-rams-steelers/1dqhmvwugt2741s1toxjzgeyhe

PFT (32. Lions (0-10-1, No. 32): Will Dan Campbell be one and done?):  https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/11/30/pfts-week-13-2021-power-rankings/

Touchdown wire (32. Detroit Lions (0-10-1)
Last week: 32.  So close again for the Lions, but a 16-14 Thanksgiving Day defeat to the Bears keeps them winless. This really felt like it could’ve been the one.):  https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/lists/nfl-power-rankings-week-13-green-bay-packers-aaron-rodgers-new-england-patriots-mac-jones/

SI (32. Detroit Lions (0-10-1) Last week: Loss vs. Chicago, 16–14 (Thanksgiving).  Next week: vs. Minnesota.  As we said, the Vikings have been in close games every week, including the first one between these two teams. So … maybe this is the week?):  https://www.si.com/nfl/2021/11/30/nfl-power-rankings-week-12-cardinals-packers

PFN (32. Detroit Lions:  The Lions are one of the most intriguing teams I’ve ever watched that have no business taking an NFL field. They are completely and utterly talent-deprived. Still, Detroit has now played in three games where they’ve lost by 2 points, lost by 3, and tied the Steelers.  Jared Goff could have completed every single one of his 25 attempts, and it still would have been anything but impressive. Of his 21 completions, 15 were at 5 yards or less. Granted, his 2 touchdown passes were impressive, but it doesn’t do anything to make me feel better about the Detroit’s offensive prospects moving forward. Goff has proven he cannot sustain a high-quality level of play.):  https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-power-rankings-2021-nflwk-13/

Walter football (32. Detroit Lions NFL Power Rankings Detroit Lions (0-10-1) - Previously: 31.  Ah, if only teams could call two consecutive timeouts. Perhaps the Lions would've had a chance.  The Lions can't beat the Bears this year, so that begs the question: Whom can they defeat to get their first win? Here's their remaining schedule: vs. Vikings, at Broncos, vs. Cardinals, at Falcons, at Seahawks, vs. Packers.  That looks like 0-16-1 to me if the Lions can't beat the Falcons, but there's a chance the Packers may sit their starters in Week 18. If so, the Lions' only win may come against No Cookie Jordan Love.):  https://walterfootball.com/nflpowerrankings.php

Athlonsports (32. Detroit Lions - Last week: 32.  What’s really the annual tradition at this point, Detroit playing on Thanksgiving or the masses watching complaining about the dreadful Lions playing yet again on one of the best holidays of the year?.):  https://athlonsports.com/nfl/nfl-power-rankings
