In his 2025 season, McNeil-Warren lined up 45% of the time as a single-high safety, 19% as a split safety, 20% in the slot, 14% in the box, and 2% at outside cornerback. Overall, he allowed six catches on 15 targets for 116 yards, 50 yards after the catch, one touchdown, two interceptions, five pass breakups, and he had 43 solo tackles, 18 stops, four tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. "To me, McNeil-Warren is the one that's the most intriguing of all these guys," Jeremiah said. "When they had him measured in the spring, he was 6-foot-3 3/8, 209 pounds. "So he's a little bit of that bigger, longer, rangier guy who's got incredible ball skills, can play in the middle of the field. 2026 NFL Draft Stock Report – (Up - Bud Clark, S, TCU:  Over the past couple of seasons, Clark has been a big-play producer for the Horned Frogs. In 2025, Clark was a nice coverage safety for the Horned Frogs, showing the ability to contribute downfield. Clark recorded 54 tackles with four interceptions and five passes broken up. In 2024, he had 68 tackles with three interceptions and three passes defended. Clark had a good week of practice at the Senior Bowl. He could stand to add weight and strength to tackle in the NFL, but the instinctive defender could be a nice value pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.) Which Senior Bowl standouts could the Detroit Lions target? (Bud Clark, DB, TCU:  We're all assuming that Kerby Joseph will be back to playing safety for the Lions in 2026 but to be honest, that's not exactly confirmed. Meanwhile, we know that Brian Branch won't be ready for the start of the season and if I had to guess, the Lions will ease Clark back into the fold on defense. With that, it wouldn't be surprising if drafting a safety is a higher priority than we all envision.  Obviously, if Caleb Downs from Ohio State is available at pick 17, the Lions should sprint to the podium. But I'd be stunned if that were the case. Now we know that the Lions could look at a safety with pick 50 but with Brad Holmes on draft day, I could see him cook up a trade to select one in the 3rd round. If he were to do that, one player that makes sense and fits the Lions very well is Bud Clark from TCU.  On film, he's got some shades of Kerby Joseph to his game. Throughout his career at TCU, Clark recorded 15 interceptions and 21 pass deflections. In addition to this, the Lions will love the leadership praise that Clark has received from coaches and teammates. After all, he's been voted as a team captain at TCU for the last three seasons. Through two games of 2025 tape that I've watched, I thought Clark did a good job triggering and getting downhill while also showing good hip fluidity to change direction and cover vertical and in-breaking routes.  Looking through Senior Bowl practices, Clark was a player that stood out. Specifically during the 1-on-1 sessions between WRs and TEs, his physicality was felt and seen on a regular basis. In a draft class that features Ohio State’s Caleb Downs at safety, it’ll be a guessing game for how the safety class falls after Downs. Parker Take Field in Mobile (Bud Clark, SAF, National - Day 1 Update:  At 6’1″, 185 pounds, Bud Clark distinguished himself as one of the more versatile safeties in Mobile. Despite playing more often in split-field zone roles, he demonstrated good coverage mobility and corrective athleticism in 1-on-1s.  That said, his spatial discipline stands to improve in the coming days, as he let by a deep post in team drills after cheating too far to the boundary.  Day 2 and 3 Update:  Clark started strong in Mobile, with just one lone hiccup on the first day, and on the final two days, he was arguably the best safety on the roster.  In off-man and press-man 1-on-1s, Clark acquitted himself better than most at his position, matching WRs with active feet and snappy lateral corrections, keeping depth discipline, and prying through the cage with his length to disrupt passes.  Working against double-move routes and counters, Clark did experience a couple more lapses at times, but teams will have a close eye on him as a safety with clear playmaking talent on the back end and potential man flex against certain matchups.) What I learned from candid conversations with Taylen Green, T.J. Parker and others during Senior Bowl week (That confidence isn't guesswork. It's preparation. Clark repeatedly pointed to film study, route recognition, and understanding down-and-distance as the hallmark of his playmaking abilities. "I'm reading his eyes," Clark said of Tar Heels quarterback Gio Lopez. "I know the down and distance, so the ball is coming straight to you."  That anticipation has fueled Clark's reputation as a turnover machine. He plays with patience in zone, transitions smoothly to man, and consistently breaks on routes before the receiver does. "At the end of the day, it's film," he said. "We practiced it so much."  Not surprisingly, we saw that during Senior Bowl practice week too.  Clark also takes pride in the parts of the game that don't show up as highlights – namely, coming downhill in run support. "That's been my main focus this year -- being able to come up, tackle, and be in the box," he said. "I'm really pretty good against the run."  To his credit, he's also honest about what he's working to improve.  "When I come down in the run, sometimes I gotta take on o-linemen," he said. "I've been working on anchoring down, holding my weight. I ain't scared of it -- them's big boys -- but I'll get down in there.") 2026 Senior Bowl Day 3 Winners: Commanders’ NFL Draft prospects who impressed at practice to boost stock (Day 3 winners at the 2026 Senior Bowl - Bud Clark, Safety, TCU:  Bud Clark is a very experienced safety with over 2,400 snaps at TCU, and it’s something the Commanders would love in Daronte Jones’ defense. Clark flashed on the field and showed his ball skills at the Senior Bowl. He had 14 interceptions over the last four years, and four in 2025. There were multiple plays on the day where he showed his coverage ability, and he dropped back over the top for an interception. He also had a pass breakup to save a touchdown in a one-on-one drill. Senior Bowl practices for 2026 NFL draft: Best QBs, prospects (Day 3 standout prospects - Bud Clark, S, TCU:  Clark's name showed up heavily in my notebook every day this week. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound safety consistently showed up in one-on-one coverage drills and was smooth shadowing both receivers and tight ends. Thursday was his best day of practice, as he jumped off the field with his smooth transitions in coverage, his technique in jumping routes and using his size to press receivers off their routes. That culminated in an impressive interception he made in team drills on the left sideline. Clark started the week with an early Day 3 grade on my board and is part of a deep safety class, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him rise into the third round due to his coverage chops and experience. -- MillerWednesday's biggest takeaway:  The defensive backs were expected to be one of the strongest position groups in Mobile, and that was the case on Wednesday. 2025 TCU Football Season Recap: Bud Clark, Jamel Johnson step up at safety (The return of All-Big 12 safety Bud Clark last offseason was major news for the TCU Horned Frogs, who had high expectations for the 2025 season. A mainstay in the secondary throughout his career, Clark returned for his sixth season in Fort Worth and once again earned All-Big 12 honors, being named to the Second Team once again. The man who intercepted J.J. Key matchups in Big 12 clash between Baylor football vs. TCU (QB Sawyer Robertson vs. S Bud Clark - Baylor fans know firsthand the effect of a momentum-changing takeaway with the heroics of former walk-on Jacob Redding this season. TCU senior safety Bud Clark does that, perhaps better than anybody in the country. Clark is the current NCAA active players all-time leader in interceptions with 13, including a pick-six in TCU's 2022 College Football Playoff matchup against Michigan, and he has two this season, including a "welcome to college football" pick-six against Bill Belichick and UNC in Week 1.  Robertson has mostly been able to avoid costly turnovers this season. 2026 NFL Draft: Six TCU Horned Frogs to watch (Bud Clark (Free Safety - RS Sr. - 6 feet 2 inches, 185 pounds):  One of only a few starters remaining from TCU’s national championship run in 2022-23, Clark opted to return for a sixth season in Fort Worth despite earning All-Big 12 Second Team honors last year. A fixture of the Horned Frog secondary since 2022, Clark has posted 24 pass breakups and 11 interceptions over the last three seasons and has gained a reputation of being a ball hawk in the defensive backfield. Clark stepped up a tackler in 2024, notching a career-high 66 total tackles including 43 solo stops, also a career high.
