Keith Abney Rankings

Overall:

SN (41. Keith Abney II, CB, Arizona State (5-10, 187 pounds):  Abney will have great value as a versatile corner who can handle any type of coverage assignment, outside or inside, solid vs. spectacular.):  https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-draft-prospects-2026-big-board-top-players-rankings/1d3fcdeaabf70ae34f441031

CBS Renner (44. Keith Abney II, CB, Arizona State:  Abney is a tape-over-traits corner. He's simply a good football player who can play both man and zone, as well as tackle in the open field. He's just not going to wow with his physical traits.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/mike-renner-2026-nfl-draft-top-250-prospect-rankings-final/

PFF (50. CB Keith Abney II, Arizona State Sun Devils:  Abney's lack of length and top-tier athleticism may limit him to zone schemes, but his competitiveness and run-defense mentality make him a valuable rotational defensive back with starter potential.):  https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2026-nfl-draft-big-board

NFL.com Edholm (59. Keith Abney II:  Abney has two solid years of tape and is a quality athlete, but his smaller frame (5-10, 187 pounds) and lack of slot reps worry me just a bit. I'd try him outside but be prepared to move him inside if needed.):  https://www.nfl.com/news/eric-edholm-s-top-100-nfl-draft-prospects-2-0-ranking-the-best-players-in-the-2026-class

Athletic (61. Keith Abney II:  Has the tools and temperament to be an NFL starter, despite being undersized.):  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/interactive/the-beast-2026/top-300-prospect-rankings/

Yahoo Tice (62. Keith Abney II, CB, Arizona State:  Feisty is the best way I can describe Abney. He has quick feet and consistently closes with a burst on the football. Even though he doesn’t have great size (5-10, 187), Abney plays physically and is willing to tackle. Abney can get a bit too upright in his backpedal, and it can lead to penalties when combined with his lack of size and tendency to get handsy in coverage, which is why I like him best primarily in the slot. I could see a defense that majors in Cover 2 or Cover 6 (like the Seahawks, for example) as being a good fit if they want to try Abney on the outside because of his awareness, tenacity and nose for the football.):  https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/2026-nfl-draft-final-big-board-fernando-mendoza-is-no-1-jeremiyah-love-is-top-3-in-full-75-player-edition-204945765.html

Netrat's Board from his Forum (67. Keith Abney)

USA Today Middlehurst-Schwartz (68. Keith Abney II, CB, Arizona State:  Abney isn't shy about getting in the face of bigger receivers, challenging them at the line of scrimmage and on any throws made to his area. Still, his instinctual play might be best suited for a shift to the slot, where his pedestrian long speed and size likely won't be sticking points.):  https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2026/04/09/nfl-draft-rankings-big-board-top-players-2026/89512738007/

SI (71. Keith Abney II, CB, Arizona State:  A four-time national champion roller skater when he was younger, Abney developed into a two-year starter at cornerback and had six interceptions in three seasons at Arizona State. He’s fluid, feisty and has terrific instincts. Abney is smallish at 5' 10" and 187 pounds—he may move to nickel at the next level—and lacks elite top speed.):  https://www.si.com/nfl/fernando-mendoza-top-250-nfl-draft-2026

Tony Pauline (76. Keith Abney II - Strengths:  Strengths:  Two-year starter who began his college career at Middle Tennessee. Tough, hard-working blocker who gets the most from his ability. Possesses great field vision, always looks for someone to hit and plays with a nasty attitude. Sets with a wide base, bends his knees and blocks with terrific leverage. Strong, controls defenders at the point of attack and moves them off the line to open running lanes. Patient in pass protection, stays square and easily anchors at the point.  Weaknesses:  Shows some ability blocking in motion but isn’t quick or fluid pulling across the line of scrimmage or effective on the second level. Doesn't have the size you want in a pure power blocker or the athleticism necessary for a zone scheme.  Analysis:  Rutledge was a terrific college lineman who showed consistency in his game. He won't wow teams with great testing numbers, yet he’s a Day 3 prospect with the toughness and intellect to be a starter on Sundays.):  https://www.essentiallysports.com/nfl-draft-board/

ESPN Legwold (78. Keith Abney II, CB, Arizona State - Height: 5-10 | Weight: 188 | 40 time: 4.48.  Play to play, Abney is as competitive as any prospect in his draft. He has the ability to play outside or in the slot and has been productive, with 21 pass breakups, five interceptions and two forced fumbles the past two seasons. He has a tendency to bail out receivers with penalties, which will need to be addressed.):  https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2026/story/_/id/48479903/2026-nfl-draft-jeff-legwold-ranking-top-100-prospects

PFF (8. Keith Abney II, Arizona State Sun Devils - Big board rank: 50.  Abney's lack of length and top-tier athleticism may limit him to zone schemes, but his competitiveness and run-defense mentality make him a valuable rotational defensive back with starter potential.):  https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2026-nfl-draft-cornerback-rankings

CFN (Keith Abney - CFN CB Rank: 9.  College: Arizona State.  Projected Draft Round: 3.  Height/Weight: 5-10, 187.  2025 Stats: 44 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 2 INT, 12 PBU, 2 FF.  A broken-up pass machine, he’s a tough guy who battles for every 50/50 ball, with just the type of nasty attitude some defensive coordinator will fall in love with.  It might take the right fit - he’s not a blazer - but you don’t make the plays that he does without knowing what you’re doing.):  https://collegefootballnews.com/nfl-draft/2026-nfl-draft-cornerback-rankings
