Best 2026 NFL Draft pick for all 32 teams: Jermod McCoy, Arvell Reese generate surplus value
After months of evaluation, we identify the best value pick for each NFL team from the 2026 draft class (Detroit Lions: CB Keith Abney II, Arizona State (Round 5, No. 157 overall) - Detroit and slot cornerback Amik Robertson parted ways, and the team responded by adding a top-100 caliber prospect in that role. Abney is smaller, but has some inside-outside exposure. He plays bigger than his size.): https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2026-nfl-draft-analysis-jermod-mccoy-arvell-reese-best-picks-by-team/
Albert Breer’s Mailbag: Why the Lions’ Offense Is Poised for a Revival (Detroit Lions: From Hiram Maximus Polk IV (@realhirampolk): With the additions of Blake Miller and Cade Mays, along with the hire of Drew Petzing, do you think the Lions offense (particularly the OL) will return to elite form? Hiram, I actually like where the Lions are right now. The skill-player group is fantastic, with Jared Goff playing point guard for Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs—and the potential you could get more out of talented second-year man Isaac TeSlaa in 2026. So, as you referenced, this comes back to Detroit returning to form along the offensive line and with its offensive play-caller. As it stands now, the line would be (left to right): Penei Sewell, Christian Mahogany, Mays, Tate Ratledge and Miller, which, by the end of 2026, should be an improvement on what the Lions had in a year of transition for the group in 2025. Whether it is, and how quickly that comes together, is the question, and probably what’ll determine the offense’s ceiling. And I would say Petzing is an upgrade. It will be tough to hold him to the standard that Ben Johnson set, but I think he will get closer to that bar than where the Lions were last year.): https://www.si.com/nfl/albert-breer-mailbag-why-lions-offense-poised-revival
Three Receivers Among 2026 First-Round Picks Who’ll Make Biggest Impact as Rookies (Blake Miller, OT, Detroit Lions: Miller is a tremendous fit in Detroit, which had a void at right tackle after moving Penei Sewell to the left side this offseason. A 54-game starter at right tackle, Miller’s high-level experience should ease his transition to the NFL and turn him into a plug-and-play strong-side blocker for Jared Goff. Miller still has room to grow with his hands and technique, but he’s athletic and should see the field early in Detroit.): https://www.si.com/nfl/three-receivers-among-2026-first-round-picks-biggest-impact-rookies
3 Non-First-Round Picks Who Could Be in the Defensive Rookie of the Year Race (Derrick Moore, Detroit Lions, EDGE: The Detroit Lions have long been searching for an appropriate running mate opposite Aidan Hutchinson. They may have found the perfect candidate in Derrick Moore. Another former Michigan alum, selecting Moore at No. 44 overall indicates they have big plans for the 2025 Wolverines breakout star. The Lions' roster lacks a proven veteran blocking Moore's path to significant snaps. Experienced pass rusher DJ Wonnum, who notched just seven sacks across the previous two campaigns, is the early favorite to start on early downs. Wonnum is on a one-year, $3 million contract. Moore is an athletic and long pass rusher with pro-ready size.): https://www.si.com/nfl/draft/onsi/late-round-expert/3-non-first-round-picks-who-could-be-in-the-defensive-rookie-of-the-year-race
