Ameer Abdullah's first career run scores six points, breaks two ankles:  http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25300791/ameer-abdullahs-first-career-run-scores-six-points-breaks-two-ankles

NFL rookies make quick impact in Week 1 (Ameer Abdullah’s first carry for the Detroit Lions was a 24-yard TD against the San Diego Chargers.):  http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2015/09/13/nfl-rookies-make-quick-impact-week-1/72223930/

Chargers ride second half surge (Ameer Abdullah plays faster than anyone else - The football world knew Ameer Abdullah had game-breaking speed from his days at Nebraska. However, concerns about the running back's size prevented him from coming off the board until the 54th selection of this year's draft. Though he may never develop into a workhorse back, Abdullah can tilt the field with just one carry, such as his electric 24-yard touchdown run through the heart of San Diego's defense.  Fantasy Focus - Ameer Abdullah. Abdullah had a strong enough day on the ground to please his fantasy owners, rushing seven times for 50 yards and a score. However, it's his four catches for 44 yards that has everyone excited for what may come. The Lions appear to have a young, ultra-versatile weapon coming out of their backfield, the type of player who keeps defensive coordinators from sleeping the night before a game.):  http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/149182146/san-diego-chargers-detroit-lions-game-recap

Keenan Allen leads Chargers to comeback win over Lions:  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/13/keenan-allen-leads-chargers-to-comeback-win-over-lions/

Rivers rallies Chargers to 33-28 victory over Lions:  http://sports.yahoo.com/news/rivers-rallies-chargers-33-28-victory-over-lions-231618580--nfl.html

Golden Tate caught 4-of-8 targets for 24 yards in the Lions' Week 1 loss to the Chargers (Tate saw twice the targets of Calvin Johnson and dominated the passing game looks before a meaningless final drive. He could not turn those targets into offense, however, and had communication issues with Matt Stafford on several plays including Stafford's second interception. Tate is a very good receiver, but the Lions' offense would be better served using him as a secondary option to Johnson in the passing game. Tate will be a WR3 next week against the Vikings.):  http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=5583&line=317650&spln=1

Calvin Johnson caught 2-of-4 targets for 39 yards Week 1 against the Chargers (Johnson had only two targets and one catch before a meaningless final drive. Johnson was hurt by the Lions' inability to sustain drives in the second half, but he also did not pop off the screen like the Megatron of old. After not playing any preseason snaps, it is possible Johnson needed to knock some rust off. He should still be considered a WR1 next week against the Vikings.):  http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=4153&line=317645&spln=1

Grading the Detroit Lions: Defense flops, RB Ameer Abdullah shines as team withers in San Diego:  http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2015/09/grading_the_detroit_lions_san_1.html

CBS Grades (Lions get a B-:  If NFL games were only two quarters long, the Lions would've rolled on Sunday. Detroit led 21-3 in the second quarter, but then couldn't manage to do anything after that. The good news for the Lions is that they know they have a weapon in Ameer Abdullah. The bad news is they also have a weapon in Calvin Johnson, but Matthew Stafford was unable to take advantage of it. Megatron finished with only two catches for 39 yards.):  http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25300551/nfl-grades-week-1-alex-smith-chiefs-look-impressive-in-opener
