Where all 32 NFL teams need to improve in 2019 (Detroit Lions: Pressure off the edge (Key Number: 10.3% edge pressure rate (31st in the NFL)):  The Lions had several defenders grade very well along the interior of their defensive line last season — Damon Harrison, A’Shawn Robinson and Da’Shawn Hand — but all three of those players lined up primarily inside and were more accomplished run-defenders than pass-rushers. When it came to getting pressure off the edge, only the Oakland Raiders had a lower edge pressure rate than the Lions (10.3%). The Lions went out and added to a stacked defensive line this offseason by signing Trey Flowers and his 18.5% pass-rush win rate from New England last season. He should help in their effort to bring more heat off the edge.):  https://www.pff.com/news/pro-where-every-afc-team-needs-to-improve-in-the-2019-nfl-season

PFF 2019 NFL Preseason Week 4 Preview: Players to watch in all 16 games (DETROIT LIONS @ CLEVELAND BROWNS - Lions’ Amani Oruwariye, a rookie fifth-round pick out of Penn State, has struggled in a big way this preseason. He’s earned just a 41.1 overall grade and a 36.2 coverage grade across his 117 defensive snaps. It’s highly unlikely he misses the cut when the axe comes swinging, but he still needs to turn his play around to warrant any level of playing time in the regular season. Second-year interior offensive lineman Austin Corbett is playing for a backup spot along the Browns’ offensive line in 2019, and he’s barely done enough to earn that. The 2018 second-rounder has earned just a 50.4 overall grade, a 29.5 pass-blocking grade and a 58.5 run-blocking grade in 130 offensive snaps this preseason. The move to center hasn’t been a lucrative move for Corbett thus far.):  https://www.pff.com/news/pro-pff-2019-nfl-preseason-week-4-preview-players-to-watch-in-all-16-games

NFL futures, win totals picks (Many projection systems really like the Lions this year, from the SportsLine Projection Model to Football Outsiders' DVOA and more. And I can see it -- the defensive line is stacked and the secondary features one of the league's best corners in Darius Slay, while the offense should be tougher to defend now that it shouldn't be as predictable. There's a worst-to-first division winner every year, and while the Jaguars are obviously the most logical candidate with the Luck retirement, I'd put the Lions second.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-futures-best-bets-on-win-totals-super-bowl-divisional-champs-mvp-and-more-on-2019-nfl-season/
