NFL's top preseason trade candidates: Who's on the block (Detroit Lions - RB Ameer Abdullah and S Miles Killebrew. Neither of these players should be a surprise because both of them have been mentioned multiple times as possible trade candidates since the draft. Detroit brought in two running backs (LeGarrette Blount and Kerryon Johnson), so former second-round pick Abdullah might have a smaller-than-expected role, but he still has the skill set to be a difference-maker somewhere. And Killebrew is in a tight safety room in which there are a bunch of players seemingly ahead of him. It's highly possible that neither player gets traded and both end up on the Lions' roster this season, but those are two of the deeper positions, and the depth could make either player expendable at the right price. -- Michael Rothstein): http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/24303256/nfl-top-trade-candidates-17-dealt-preseason

PFF's Best Contracts – Top 5 NFL running back contracts for 2018 (1. THEO RIDDICK, DETROIT LIONS - A playmaker in the receiving game, Riddick was at his best in 2015, when his 2.2 yards per route run average was the most among all running backs with at least 50 targets in the passing game. Over the course of his five-year career, Riddick has seen an NFL passer rating of 108.2 on targeted throws, and he has produced a PFF receiver grade of at least 80.0 in three of the past four seasons. In a crowded backfield in Detroit, where rookie Kerryon Johnson is routinely tipped to see the most work, don’t be surprised to see Riddick as the team’s primary threat out of the backfield once again in 2018.): https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-pffs-best-contracts-top-5-nfl-running-back-contracts-for-2018
