NFL Defense Power Rankings: All 32 defenses ranked into 5 distinct tiers (Tier 5 - Detroit Lions:  The Detroit Lions defense last season was absolutely gashed on a weekly basis. Over the season, they were beaten for a passer rating of 118.4 by opposing quarterbacks, and the results prompted a regime change in the offseason. The Lions clearly have more talent than they showed last year, but the question of how much of a revival can be done on the group that was there plus a few additions is an open one. Jeffrey Okudah was one of the best cornerback prospects to come into the league in years, but as a rookie was lit up in one of the most man-heavy schemes in the game, earning a PFF coverage grade of just 30.9.):  https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-defense-rankings-tiers-2021

Building the ultimate 32-man NFL roster (Tight ends: George Kittle (49ers) and T.J. Hockenson (Lions) (Last year (ineligible): Zach Ertz (Eagles) and Darren Waller (Raiders)):  We gave serious consideration to putting Kittle and Travis Kelce on this roster. In that construction, we would have gone with Frank Ragnow at center, John Harbaugh as head coach, and Derwin James as our flex defensive back. This version of the roster seems better, though. Hockenson is a solid fit as the second tight end, and we'd rather an offensive head coach at the helm than a CEO type like Harbaugh. Kittle is going to be on the field at all times anyway, given his facility as a blocker and pass-catcher, and Reid doesn't even have to change much about the way his offense works to incorporate a star with his talents.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2021-nfl-survivor-squad-building-a-32-man-juggernaut-with-one-pick-from-every-single-team/

NFL quarterback rankings: The best and worst starting QBs for 2021, ranked 1-32 (25. Jared Goff, Lions:  McVay and the Rams squeezed everything they could from the No. 1 overall pick in 2016, boosting him with a strong system and supporting cast. Now Goff is at a career crossroads, hoping to serve the Lions as more than a 26-year-old bridge option. Goff has regressed with his efficiency and downfield passing since his first two years with McVay. He is hoping to be fixed by another Los Angeles import, offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn, who was a big help to Herbert last season. The Lions will lean a lot on the run with D'Andre Swift, but they unfortunately depleted their passing game options save for top young tight end T.J. Hockenson. This situation has the feel of Goff taking more lumps and making room for a rookie replacement in 2022. (2020 key stats (with Rams): 3,952 passing yards, 20 passing TDs, 13 INTs, 90.0 passer rating, 58.5 QBR, 7.2 yards per attempt)):  https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-quarterback-rankings-2021-qbs-best-worst/1si64ganljv4v14wa7kd982pah

Highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL in 2021 (T-6) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (signed with the Los Angeles Rams) | AAV: $33.5 million
The former first overall pick comes in joint-fifth on the list of highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL. Goff was signed to a four-year contract extension after leading the Rams to a Super Bowl, which they lost to a Tom Brady-led New England Patriots team.  Goff was traded to the Detroit Lions ahead of the 2021 NFL season. Therefore, Goff will leave $22.2 million in dead money with the Rams in 2021. Meanwhile, the Lions are set to pay Goff an average of $26.1 million over the next four years.):  https://www.profootballnetwork.com/highest-paid-quarterbacks-in-nfl/
