Assessing intriguing QB market as 2024 NFL offseason nears: Who could be headed where? (Detroit Lions - Leading Detroit to its first NFC North title ever and its first playoff win in over 30 years, Jared Goff has rewarded the Lions’ faith when they acquired him three years ago as part of the Matthew Stafford trade. And while Goff’s contract was viewed as an albatross by the Rams, who needed to get it off the books to acquire Stafford, that’s no longer the case.  Instead, Goff now has a year left at a little under $27 million, which is well below market value based on his performance. Expect Lions brass to begin conversations to address it this offseason, with hopes of a new deal that makes sense for all parties.  Asked prior to the NFC Championship Game about the possibility of a new deal, Goff said: “Yeah, it would be great. But it's not up to me."  Still only 29 years old, Goff has thoroughly enjoyed his time in Detroit, and the feeling is mutual. With Teddy Bridgewater retiring, former Tennessee standout Hendon Hooker now steps into the backup role. His development after a year spent rehabbing from a major knee injury is worth monitoring, as well.):  https://www.nfl.com/news/assessing-intriguing-qb-market-as-2024-nfl-offseason-nears-who-could-be-headed-where

One thing each NFL team needs to do in offseason (Detroit Lions - Improve at cornerback: The pass defense was a major weakness on the Lions talented roster this season, as Detroit was 27th in the NFL in touchdown passes allowed (28), 31st in yards per attempt (7.8) and 21st in passer rating allowed (91.5). Emmanuel Moseley's injury was significant and Cam Sutton struggled in the second half of the year. C.J. Gardner-Johnson's injury didn't help the secondary either. Finding a No. 1 cornerback will be tough in free agency, but the Lions do have $46.6 million in salary cap space to work with. The draft may be the best option.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/one-thing-every-nfl-team-must-do-this-offseason-ahead-of-2024-season-cowboys-patriots-face-crucial-decisions/

2017 NFL Redraft: Patrick Mahomes Reigns Supreme, Alvin Kamara Joins Matthew Stafford (21. Detroit Lions: Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee:  The Jarrad Davis selection for the Lions was essentially a mulligan. Alvin Kamara doesn’t fill that same need, but he could’ve taken Detroit’s offense to a new level. Imagine if Matthew Stafford and Jim Caldwell had prime Kamara — who caught 81 passes and eclipsed 1,500 total yards as a rookie — in 2017 and beyond. They might’ve avoided the Matt Patricia era.):  https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2017-nfl-redraft/
