2015 Senior Bowl Practice Report (Michigan center/guard Graham Glasgow was one of the stars of the East-West Shrine, and he had a respectable first day at the Senior Bowl. He split one-on-one pass-rushing reps with Louisville defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins. When Rankins used a speed rush to try to run by Glasgow, the Wolverine just pummeled him into the turf with authority. On the rematch, Rankins burned Glasgow with a spin move. Still, it is impressive for a center to be able to block a defensive tackle in one-on-ones as centers are typically helping to execute a double team on a sub-package interior rusher. Senior Bowl Preview: Players To Watch (Graham Glasgow, OL, Michigan--Glasgow earned a call-up from the Shrine Game, thanks in part to a fantastic first two days of practice in St. Pete when several NFL GMs and high-ranking scouts were watching. Hopefully they stayed tuned in, because in Wednesday session he struggled more with the quick power of guys like Javon Hargrave and Tevin Coley. In the actual game, Glasgow didn’t play well either, though it was hard to notice with the quarterbacks behind him being so abysmal. The guy we saw in St. Pete on Monday and Tuesday will do well in Mobile, too. He’s tall for an interior lineman at 6’6” but he kept his weight low and showed strong hand placement and shoulder torque while engaged. His agility is above average. The guy from Wednesday and from the game, the one who played too high and couldn’t sustain blocks or recover quickly enough when bested, will dampen any potential bump from the 6th-7th round status he appeared to hold in December. I watched every snap of Michigan football (7 times in person) over the last three years and Glasgow was that guy a lot more often than he was the buzz-worthy player from early last week.) 2016 Shrine Game: Five prospects who created buzz among NFL scouts (Graham Glasgow, C, Michigan (6-6, 310):  The resurgence of the Michigan program under coach Jim Harbaugh not only resulted in more wins, but also a rebirth for several Wolverine prospects, including Glasgow. A three-year starter at Michigan, he blossomed into a legitimate NFL prospect this past season and carried that momentum into Shrine practices.  Glasgow showed a quick snap-and-step first move with the body control and base to hold his ground in pass protection. As a run blocker, he showed range up and down the line of scrimmage, breaking down on the move and using his hands to overwhelm defenders. Glasgow has terrific awareness to advance his eyes to the second level, finding his next victim to peel, stack and create running room between the hashes. 2016 East-West Shrine Game East Practice Report (The other player who has greatly improved his draft stock is Michigan center Graham Glasgow. The 6-foot-6, 303-pounder had another good practice on Wednesday. He held his own in the pass-rushing one-on-ones and looked very good in the team scrimmage. On one play, Glasgow fired out to the second level and crunched a linebacker to spring Illinois running back Josh Ferguson for a big run. Glasgow also showed nice awareness on a screen to Ferguson. He turned around to get a critical block on a linebacker, and that allowed Ferguson to explode downfield.  Glasgow also functioned well in pass protection and is adept at hitting double teams with guards. Glasgow's huge week puts him in the thick of the top center competition with other players like Alabama's Ryan Kelly and USC's Max Tuerk.) East-West Shrine Game East Team Practice Report (Hargrave blew by Michigan center Graham Glasgow for a tackle for a loss in the run scrimmage. Glasgow had a strong start on Monday, but had a mixed session on Tuesday. He had some tough battles with Boston College defensive tackle Connor Wuijciak to get a draw on some one-on-one reps. Wuijciak didn't get sacks, but he got penetration into the pocket before Glasgow could hold him up. In the run and team scrimmage sessions Glasgow showed impressive quickness to hit blocks on the second level. He also had a blatant hold on one perimeter run as his hands were outside of the shoulders as he wrestled a tackler away. That play would get called every time in the NFL. What we learned Monday at East-West Shrine Game practice (2. Reviews glow for Glasgow. After Michigan pounded Florida, 41-7, in the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Day, coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters that center Graham Glasgow, a former walk-on, would not only play on Sundays but had a chance to be drafted on a Thursday.  "Graham Glasgow, what an amazing player," Harbaugh gushed. "He could be a first-round pick, the way he played, the way he's played all year."  No doubt, Harbaugh was using coaching hyperbole. But Glasgow did stand out on Day 1 of practice, catching the eye of NFL Media draft analyst Mike Mayock.  "He was the guy who really stood out to me," Mayock said. "It's a strong year for centers, but he looks like an NFL starter. Very strong. He could compete at the Senior Bowl."  Seniors Ryan Kelly of Alabama and Nick Martin of Notre Dame are considered the top two centers in this year's draft, followed by another 7-8 with draftable grades. Glasgow now should be firmly in that latter category, and could move up to mid-round status as the draft process continues. He's off to a good start, and it never hurts to have guys like Harbaugh and Mayock in your corner.) Pauline's Shrine Game Preview: Monday (Graham Glasgow/C/Michigan: Glasgow lined up at center for most of the day and was dominant on just about every snap. He controlled the line of scrimmage and manhandled everyone he faced. Glasgow out-muscled big defensive tackles and at the same time engulfed the smaller, quicker opponents who tried to run around him. It’s very rare when a center grades as the top prospect during a post season All Star game but that’s exactly what scouts are saying about Glasgow.)
