Weight: 226.  Projected 40 Time: 4.60.  Projected Round (2016): 6-FA. 4/26/16: Washington missed five games with an injury in 2015, but still entered the 2016 NFL Draft. The junior averaged six yards per carry for 282 yards with four touchdowns on the year. He had 25 receptions for 315 yards with three touchdowns as well. As a sophomore, Washington averaged 5.3 yards per carry for 697 yards with nine touchdowns. Washington had a minor knee injury late in the 2015 season that required surgery. The junior started six games last season and missed four with a knee injury. He does not have a big body of work, but when on his game, Washington's film was impressive in 2015.) No good option at running back for Washington Huskies (The Washington Huskies released their Week 1 depth chart, with both Dwayne Washington and Lavon Coleman listed as starting running backs. Last season the Huskies used a rotation at running back with four running backs totaling over 100 snaps. Most expected Dwayne Washington to be in the lead role this season on his own, however, that may not be the best option for the Huskies. Dwayne Washington graded as the 217th (out of 227) running backs in 2014, partly due to producing only 2.2 yards after contact — in the bottom half for running backs with 25 percent of the carries.) 2016 NFL Draft: Washington has talent, but can't match 2015 crop (Dwayne Washington, RB, Redshirt Junior, 6-1, 221, 4.53: At this point, Washington isn't even assured of a starting role but given the way in which he finished last season, he appears to be a legitimate breakout candidate for the Huskies. The Huskies struggled to find a suitable replacement for Tennessee Titans' 2014 second round pick Bishop Sankey and ultimately turned to Washington, a former wide receiver who caught fire late last year, rattling off three consecutive 100+ yard games against Arizona, Oregon and Washington State to end the regular season. The 383 combined yards (and five rushing touchdowns) Washington ran for in those three games were more than half of the 697 yards and nine scores he registered for the year. Frankly, Washington still looks like a wide receiver as he possesses a tall, athletic build and very long legs for the running back position. Though his long legs would theoretically seem a hindrance, Washington has a galloping gait that allows him to build up to top speed quickly. Washington doesn't waste much time dancing in the hole, typically hitting it aggressively or trying to stretch the play out wide and using his speed to out-run oncoming defenders. Despite his height, Washington does a nice job of running through contact, showing impressive balance and a fierce stiff-arm to fight off would-be tacklers. With even more uncertainty at quarterback than running back, the Huskies are likely to attempt to run the ball often in 2015. Washington flashes the big play potential to be the team's new workhorse and if successful could emerge as a legitimate NFL prospect.)
