2021 NFL preseason: Highest- and lowest-graded rookies for every NFL team (DETROIT LIONS (Highest: DI Levi Onwuzurike, 84.5. Lowest: OT Penei Sewell, 38.6): A tale of two opt-outs. Onwuzurike came out this preseason with a power element we didn’t quite see on tape back in 2019. He looks ready to contribute immediately on a line that needs his help. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same about Sewell, who looks woefully uncomfortable at right tackle. He was riding defenders into his quarterback’s lap without even realizing it. His set depth and hand placement were disastrous. It’s unlikely to be an overnight fix, either.): https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-highest-lowest-graded-rookies-2021-nfl-preseason
Biggest takeaways from the 2021 NFL preseason for all 32 teams (DETROIT LIONS - Penei Sewell isn’t a plug-and-play starter at right tackle like expected. Sewell’s early struggles are evidence that switching from left to right tackle isn’t an inconsequential move. He hasn’t looked fully comfortable at his new position. Sewell’s 27.0 pass-blocking grade ranked dead last among 47 right tackles with at least 50 offensive snaps this preseason. He should improve with time, but time isn’t exactly a luxury that Sewell has right now with the regular season nearing. Expectations may need to be tempered for him and Detroit’s offensive line in 2021 — an expected strength of this roster.): https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-biggest-takeaway-2021-nfl-preseason-32-teams
