2023 NFL Preseason Week 2 rookie grades: Mixed bag for C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young (JAGUARS AT LIONS Jack Campbell - Grade: B+. Campbell did not start in the Lions' 25-7 loss to the Jaguars, but the rookie looked the part when he entered the game and led all players with seven tackles. Campbell fought off blocks and found the ball, thumping running backs in the hole. He was solid in coverage, whether lining up in the slot, covering backs out of the backfield or carrying a tight end down the middle. His physicality sent a tight end to the ground on a failed two-point conversion at the end of the half. Campbell was near the ball on kickoff and punt return coverage teams, as well. However, he struggled to catch up to rookie back Tank Bigsby on the outside, allowing a big gain on a cutback (negated by penalty), losing the race to the corner a few plays later and then missing an arm tackle attempt midway through the second quarter.): https://www.nfl.com/news/2023-nfl-preseason-week-2-rookie-grades-mixed-bag-for-c-j-stroud-bryce-young
Winners and losers from Week 2 of the NFL preseason (Loser: Teddy Bridgewater - The Lions were holding out their first-team offense for their exhibition game with the Jaguars and it showed. Specifically, it was a lackluster showing for veteran signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater, who got the start and played the bulk of the first half. Detroit struggled the move the ball offensively and was shut out throughout the time Bridgewater was under center. That included three-and-outs on four of Bridgewater's six series to begin the game. He also fumbled in the closing minutes of the first quarter. On the day, Bridgewater finished just 5-of-11 for 34 yards.): https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/winners-and-losers-from-nfl-preseason-week-2-steelers-offense-shines-bijan-robinson-flashes-bills-stagnant/

2023 NFL Preseason: The Secret Superstars of Week 2 (Steven Gilmore, CB, Detroit Lions - There’s already a Stephon Gilmore in the NFL, of course, and that Gilmore was maybe the league’s best cornerback at his peak. Now, there’s Steven Gilmore, younger brother of, and while the new Gilmore came into the league with far less fanfare (an undrafted free agent out of Marshall as opposed to the 10th overall pick out of South Carolina), Steven Gilmore showed some family traits against the Jaguars on Saturday. Gilmore allowed just three catches on seven targets for 68 yards, 34 yards after the catch, no touchdowns, one interception, one pass breakup, and an opponent passer rating of 38.7. Big bro was impressed.): https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/lists/2023-nfl-preseason-nick-herbig-aidan-oconnell-tyjae-spears/
NFL preseason winners, losers: Questions linger for Bryce Young, other rookie quarterbacks (Winners - Teddy Bridgewater: The Lions’ new QB2 has worn jersey No. 5 for his entire career, but RB David Montgomery already claimed it in Detroit. So, for preseason anyway, Bridgewater – while making the start Saturday – opted for five … and zero. He won’t be able to wear 50 once the regular season begins, but seeing a veteran dressed up like a Pop Warner player in the last available jersey makes preseason a touch more fun. Losers - Teddy Bridgewater: No magic in that No. 50 anyway, Teddy B. In his first game with Detroit, Bridgewater fumbled and led the offense to all of 2 yards on his first three drives against Jacksonville.): https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/columnist/nate-davis/2023/08/21/nfl-preseason-winners-losers-bijan-robinson-bryce-young-cj-stroud/70638800007/
