RB Index, Week 1: Predicting NFL's top 10 leading rushers for 2024 season (8. Jahmyr Gibbs:  I talked about the thunder-and-lightning combo with the Ravens, and the Lions feature a similar duo with David Montgomery (thunder) and Gibbs (lightning). In the 2023 regular season, Montgomery had 37 more carries than Gibbs. Jared Goff (2023 stats: 17 games | 67.3 pct | 4,575 pass yds | 7.6 ypa | 30 pass TD | 12 INT | 21 rush yds | 2 rush TD | 6 fumbles):  Detroit has been good to Goff, who has posted two consecutive 4,400-yard passing seasons while graduating from bridge quarterback to face of the franchise (for at least the next few years). Gone are the days when we thought Goff wasn't worth the No. 1 overall pick the Rams spent on him in 2016. It's heartwarming to see a quarterback who dealt with sky-high expectations and operated in an intense spotlight from Day 1 finally find happiness in the form of on-field success, even if it didn't happen in Los Angeles. Keeping offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was a boon for Goff, as we've learned it takes a certain type of offensive coach to maximize Goff's strengths and weaknesses. Very good… but not yet trustable on the biggest stage.  Jared Goff, Detroit Lions:  Do you have one of these players on your roster? Congrats! You’ve got a franchise quarterback! Two members of this group have been to the Super Bowl and each has started at least one playoff game. A trip to Super Bowl 59 (or, for the Roman digit enthusiasts that like numbers that sound like KISS albums, LIX) would likely propel one or two of these guys up a full tier.  Prescott, Love, Tagovailoa, Goff and Hurts all recorded top 10 expected points added (EPA) marks in 2023.
