We ranked the 50 most impactful NFL offseason moves, from Davante Adams to Russell Wilson (16. DJ Reed, CB: Signed by Detroit Lions.  Reed was signed to upgrade a Lions defense that allowed 244 yards passing per game in 2024, the third most in the league. He is a highly competitive coverage corner with press-man traits and the transition speed to break on the throw.  More of a ball disruptor than playmaker, Reed has 40 pass breakups -- compared with six interceptions -- over his career. He will start opposite second-year cornerback Terrion Arnold.  41. Tate Ratledge, C: Drafted by Detroit Lions:  With the retirement of Lions veteran center Frank Ragnow earlier this summer, the door is open for Ratledge to win the starting spot in camp. Ratledge allowed just one sack in each of the past two seasons while playing in the SEC, and his tenacious demeanor fits well with the Lions' identity under head coach Dan Campbell.):  https://www.detroitlions.com/news/what-second-year-ol-giovanni-manu-learned-from-working-with-taylor-decker-this-offseason

Lords of the Ringless: Ranking 10 QBs Poised for Super Bowl Breakthrough (6. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions :  Despite the loss of a brilliant offensive play-caller in Ben Johnson, the Lions should remain a viable contender with Goff leading the way as a pass-first point guard dishing the rock to a collection of dynamic playmakers. Whether throwing the ball around the yard to Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta or handing the ball to Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, the Lions have the firepower to light up scoreboards around the league. Though it might take some time to adjust to new offensive coordinator John Morton’s schematic tweaks, the Lions’ superior personnel should make it a smooth transition for Super Bowl contenders. If Morton quickly adapts the call sheet to accentuate Goff’s game, the Lions’ QB1 will take his second NFL team to a Super Bowl berth.):  https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/ranking-10-quarterbacks-super-bowl-breakthrough

Offseason report cards for every NFL team as final training camps open (Detroit Lions: D.  For those who see water in the glass, DE Aidan Hutchinson is on track to return from the broken leg that prematurely ended a 2024 season in which he seemed destined to win Defensive Player of the Year honors. All-Pro Kerby Joseph also became the league’s highest-paid safety with a four-year, $86 million extension.  But the injury bug also got an extension, DT Levi Onwuzurike already lost to a season-ending knee injury, and DT Alim McNeill still recovering from a torn ACL. C Frank Ragnow belatedly chose retirement over another season of pain. Rookie DL Tyleik Williams and OL Tate Radledge will need to be ready to play straight away. LB Alex Anzalone also seems to have some wounded pride as he awaits an extension heading into his walk year.  But the main issue for this team, which is a bit of a victim of its own recent success, could be the departure of eight assistants, most notably OC Ben Johnson (Bears) and DC Glenn (Jets), both hired to their first head coaching gigs. A team that’s gone 27-7 over the past two regular seasons will be severely challenged to maintain its momentum, much less build on it.):  https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/columnist/nate-davis/2025/07/23/nfl-grades-offseason-report-cards-training-camps/85321954007/
