NFL.com Power Rankings (22. Lions:  That was a bad loss on Thanksgiving. You don't have to get blown out to suffer an ugly defeat in the NFL. The Lions got outcoached, and I don't say that often, if ever. I don't even recall writing it. There were virtually no offensive adjustments, especially to the pressure the Bears were forcing up the middle. Going for two made zero sense following the LeGarrette Blount touchdown run in the third quarter that put Detroit up 13-9. That missing point made a difference when the game was tied at 16 with less than 10 minutes to go in the fourth quarter, putting pressure on the Lions to go down and score. Perhaps with a one-point lead, they could've played conservatively (Blount had a fine day on the ground) to, in turn, force Chase Daniel to try to win the game. Instead, Matt Stafford threw a pick-six to Eddie Jackson and Chicago never looked back. The red-zone plays were terrible, only to be surpassed by the listless route Michael Roberts ran that led to the interception. Yahoo Power Rankings (23. Detroit Lions (4-7, LW: 21): The Lions’ plan on Thanksgiving was strangely conservative. It’s understandable why they’d want to get the ball out quickly against the Bears’ pass rush, but it wasn’t working. They basically turned Matthew Stafford into a check-down artist, and if that’s the offense they want, there are many other cheaper quarterbacks capable of playing that role. ESPN Power Rankings (24. Detroit Lions (4-7):  Toughest game left: Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Rams. The Lions have actually played well against some of the tougher teams on their schedule (New England, Chicago at home), but the Rams feel like something different. Detroit hasn't faced an offense that talented all season, and it's tough to see a way for the Lions to keep pace. The Rams have scored 29 or more points every game. The Lions have done that just twice: Week 5 against Green Bay and Week 7 against Miami. MLive's Week 13 NFL power rankings (26. Lions:  The wheels are falling off with this team. Literally. Marvin Jones is headed to injured reserve, likely a reaction to a seventh loss and how eliminated they feel in the NFC North after the sweep by the Bears. Don't be shocked if Kerryon Johnson gets similar treatment before long. It happens sometimes in the NFL, but this team has also been bad all year, dating back to that Week 1 trouncing by the Jets. It's hard to envision more than a max of two wins left on the schedule now, and so continually tweaking the scheme and developing young players who are healthy has to become the focus.
