Ranking 2024 NFL divisions by tight ends (2. NFC North - Bears: Cole Kmet.  Lions: Sam LaPorta. Packers: Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft. Vikings: T.J. Hockenson.  Were it not for Hockenson's injury, we might have put this group first. LaPorta had one of the best seasons ever for a rookie tight end, while Hockenson was on his way to an absolutely monster season before tearing his ACL. Both Musgrave and Kraft had their moments for Green Bay last season, and Kmet has turned himself into a solid supplementary option. This is a good group.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-2024-nfl-divisions-by-tight-ends-george-kittle-trey-mcbride-lift-nfc-west-to-top-spot/

Training camp overreactions: Concern for Brock Purdy? (Jameson Williams will be the breakout wide receiver in the NFL - Overreaction or reality: Overreaction. Williams has gained some attention through the first few weeks of camp, showcasing his breakaway speed and becoming a deep threat in an already loaded Lions offense. Injuries and a gambling suspension have held Williams back, but the third-year wide receiver is gaining more confidence by the day.  Williams had a rushing and receiving touchdown in the NFC Championship Game, so he's showcased he can be a playmaker in this league. Can Williams make plays consistently? Can he keep his head on his shoulders?  The Lions need a consistent WR2 and a home run threat in their offense. Williams is working his way toward becoming that, but it's premature to state he will be their breakout wide receiver in the league for 2024. Detroit will take the version of Williams it's getting thus far in camp.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-training-camp-overreactions-after-first-two-weeks-concern-for-brock-purdy-chargers-off-to-slow-start/

Latest updates from NFL training camp: Daniels now taking most first-team snaps (Detroit Lions - Friday's practice was run in a scrimmage format, including officials, as coach Dan Campbell wanted to see players compete in a more formal setting. During the action, the offense executed some slick plays, which included WR Amon-Ra St. Brown pitching the ball to RB Jahmyr Gibbs and QB Jared Goff being targeted for a pass. Gibbs would score a couple of touchdowns in front of the fans in attendance. Kicker Jake Bates struggled, though, missing seven field goals and extra points combined.  Following practice, Aidan Hutchinson spent time with 13-year-old Max Robertson, who has Down syndrome, as part of his Hutch's Heroes program, where he connects with children with disabilities. Hutchinson posed for photos and signed autographs as they danced and hit "The Griddy" together. Robertson, who lives in Plymouth, Michigan, was joined by his parents, Scott and Kristi, as well as his 9-year-old sister, Zoe.  "That's what it's all about," Hutchinson told ESPN. "...Very inspiring." -- Eric Woodyard (Last update: Aug. 2)):  https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40191932/nfl-training-camp-live-updates-2024-news-depth-charts-injuries-roster-battles

Ranking six NFL QBs who got PAID this offseason: Who will have biggest impact on 2024 season? (1. Jared Goff - WHY HE’S WORTH IT: Winning pedigree.  The No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft captained the 2018 Rams to a Super Bowl appearance, and now he has the Lions on the verge of cementing their status as perennial contenders in the NFC. The veteran has flourished in Ben Johnson's offense, displaying superb accuracy and ball placement distributing passes to a group of blue-chip playmakers on the perimeter. Last season, he ranked seventh in the NFL in completion rate (67.3%) and 11th in TD-to-INT ratio (30:12). The aerial attack is impossible to defend, anchored by receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams and tight end Sam LaPorta, and it's complemented by a punishing ground game, sparked by David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. The Lions' crafty quarterback routinely chalks up wins showcasing his exceptional managerial and playmaking skills.  WHY IT’S RISKY: Potentially limited ceiling.  Even as Goff's blue-collar approach has transformed a cellar-dweller into a contender in Motown, skeptics wonder if the Lions' QB1 can win a shootout against an elite quarterback in the playoffs. Yes, he's a two-time Pro Bowler with Super Bowl experience, but he has yet to crack 300 yards in a single postseason appearance, and he's thrown more than one TD pass in just one of his eight playoff appearances. The Lions committed top-five money to a quarterback viewed as a high-end game manager. If he fails to elevate his performance in January and February, the team might not recoup a full return on its investment.):  https://www.nfl.com/news/ranking-six-nfl-qbs-who-got-paid-this-offseason-who-will-have-biggest-impact-on-2024-season
