Dan Campbell, Detroit Lions - When Dan Campbell was first hired in 2021, he emphatically announced that he would change the Detroit Lions' culture. He’s done that and so much more. After starting 4-19-1 over his first year and a half as head coach, Campbell found a way to flip the switch, and the Lions have now won 35 of their past 44 regular-season games.  Across that stretch, which started in Week 9 of 2022, the Lions rank second in PFF offensive grade as they’ve resurrected Jared Goff’s career. NFC NORTH - Average QBI rank: 17.75.  Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams (No. 28), Detroit Lions: Jared Goff (No. 4), Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love (No. 10), Minnesota Vikings: J.J. McCarthy (No. 29).  There is one simple explanation for the NFL's toughest division in 2024 ranking this low: youth. Williams, 23, survived a rough rookie season fraught with organizational dysfunction. The Bears brought in reinforcements, including a new coaching regime led by Ben Johnson, keeping the expectations high for their chosen franchise quarterback, with only a season's worth of evidence to suggest he can live up to them. McCarthy, 22, hasn't taken an in-game snap since Week 1 of the 2024 preseason, yet the second-year pro is climbing into the driver's seat of a team that won 14 games last season, raising hopes for a repeat performance in 2025. We know what Goff, the veteran 30-year-old outlier, brings to the table for Detroit, but we don't know exactly how that will translate to the field now that Johnson, Goff's offensive coordinator over the past three seasons, is leading the rival Bears. All we need from Love, 26, is a healthy season and a more reliable showing over 17 games than he's put up in his two years as a starter thus far. Reasons each NFC North team can win division in 2025 (Detroit Lions - Dan Campbell still oversees many of the NFL's best pure playmakers. Detroit's coordinator turnover isn't something to overlook; Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn were instrumental voices on Campbell's staff, bringing energy to both sides of the ball. Their exits also shouldn't be oversold to the point of discrediting the Lions' enviable skill talent.  Between Jahmyr Gibbs in the backfield, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams out wide, Sam LaPorta at tight end and a front featuring sturdy bookends in Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell, Motor City promises to remain home to track-meet-style fireworks. And that's saying nothing of Campbell's own fiery brand of aggression, which helped build the Lions into what they are today. Top 25 NFL players 25 or younger for 2025 season (8. Aidan Hutchinson - Age: 25 | Last year's ranking: 22.  How does a guy who missed the last 12 games of 2024 shoot up the rankings? Because Hutchinson was on fire prior to his serious leg injury, notching 7.5 sacks in five games as the relentless heart of Detroit's defense. Throw in his gradual improvement from 2022-2023, and the Michigan man is due for a monster resurgence.  6. Jahmyr Gibbs - Age: 23 | Last year's ranking: 25.  Running backs matter again! Saquon Barkley may be the spokesman there, but Gibbs deserves a lot more credit for how much electricity he brings out of Detroit's backfield. He scored 20 touchdowns and eclipsed 1,900 scrimmage yards in 2024 despite initially splitting carries with David Montgomery. He's a homer waiting to happen.  5. Amon-Ra St. Brown - Age: 25 | Last year's ranking: 8.  Can you see why the Lions have surged to the top of the NFC in recent years? St. Brown lacks an imposing frame, but he's one of the league's top chain-movers, propelling Jared Goff's own resurgence with both timely possession skills and breakaway burst. Three straight 100-catch, 1,100-yard seasons? That'll do it.  3. Penei Sewell - Age: 24 | Last year's ranking: 4.  The playmakers get the shine in Motown, but everything starts up front, where Sewell has used his mammoth size (6-foot-5, 335 pounds) and top-end quickness to pave the way for one of the NFL's most explosive offenses.
