Big lead (LIONS (+9.5) over Bills: Look, it's no secret that the Detroit Lions are our favorite team to bet on and all they do is continue to reward that confidence. Dan Campbell's suddenly-hot unit went out to New Jersey and absolutely dominated a likely playoff team in all three phases of the game. Aidan Hutchinson is looking like a legitimate game-changer. And there's a confidence present that hasn't graced the Motor City since 2014. If this team wasn't called the Lions, a person could convince themselves that they are actually — gulp — good. As for the Bills, it has to be weird to play two games in five days at the same building, one as the home team and one as the road. Sprinkle a little on the moneyline and pray at the altar of Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor. Five things to watch as the Lions look to beat the Bills; plus prediction (Prediction: Lions 28, Bills 27) OK, on Sunday I picked the Lions to beat the Giants and got grief for it until afterward. The Bills have the NFL’s second-best offense and their defense allows only 17.4 points per game. Yet, they have lost two of their last three. Numbers aren’t everything – the Lions defense is still ranked 32nd even after shutting down the Giants. After careful deliberation I’m picking the Lions who will be riding an emotional high.):

SN Iyer (Game of Midweek I: Bills (-9.5, 54 o/u) at Lions:
The Bills had some experience adjusting to Ford Field. Although Josh Allen continued to slump, they had to be pleased about getting the traditional running game going and also spreading the ball around more effectively in the passing game. The Lions' young defense has played much better of late and made some big plays, but they struggle to multiple, diverse offenses. Jared Goff hasn't played all that well during the Lions' winning streak and the negative game script will take them out of sticking with the run. Allen has his best game in a month in a complete road rout in a familiar venue. Pick: Bills win 31-20): https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-picks-predictions-against-spread-week-12/ufqbjfktxlzkddiodl1jxpoj
CBS Breech (Buffalo (7-3) at Detroit (4-6): I've seen the movie "Stepbrothers" enough times to know when two people are becoming best friends and definitely seems like the Bills and Lions are becoming best friends. I mean, for one, the Lions were kind enough to let the Bills borrow their house over the weekend. The Lions could have just put their place up on AirBNB, but instead, they let the Bills have it for free and it ended up working out well for everyone involved. And let me just say, I'm glad to see that the Lions set some ground rules. Always set ground rules. These teams likely won't be best friends after this game and that's because I'm expecting things to get kind of crazy. On paper, this feels like a game that the Lions have zero chance to win, but if I've learned one thing in my life about picking NFL games, it's that teams always seem to win when you think they have zero chance to win, especially when they're coached by a guy who's most famous quote involves biting kneecaps off. I have no idea what Dan Campbell eats at his house on Thanksgiving Day, but there's a 50% chance it's kneecaps. The big problem in this game for the Lions is that they have one of the worst defenses in the NFL this year and they'll be playing a Bills offense that has been one of the best. The Lions have given up the most yards per game and the most points per game and that's definitely not a good combination when the team you're playing ranks second in both points scored and yards per game. If this game had been played four weeks ago, I'd probably have picked the Bills by 30, but the Lions are suddenly one of the hottest teams in football. If you combine that with the fact that the Bills have been in a slight offensive rut, that's the recipe for a game that could go down to the wire. I told you we'd talk about recipes. Buffalo Bills vs. Detroit Lions predictions and keys to Thanksgiving Day game 2022 (Sal’s prediction: Buffalo Bills 34, Detroit Lions 23. I
had the sense that Allen took a deep cleansing breath last week after getting his act together late in the first half and then going on to play a clean game. He needed that, and that might be what gets him back to being MVP-level Allen against Detroit. He really didn’t take advantage of the perfect dome conditions against the Browns, but that might happen this time around against a vulnerable Lions defense. The Lions have played well in winning three in a row and there’s no doubt they always play hard for coach Dan Campbell, a guy who has Red Bull rather than blood running through his veins. But the Bills are clearly the better team and while I think the Lions will score some points, they won’t be able to go point for point with Buffalo.): https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2022/11/22/bills-vs-lions-prediction-and-keys-to-thanksgiving-day-game/69667045007/
SN Bender (Buffalo Bills (-9) at Detroit Lions:
Detroit has lost on Thanksgiving each of the last four years. The Lions tightened up against the run against the Giants last week, but Allen's mobility is going to be an issue for this defense. Devin Singletary and James Cook will get in on the action, and that will set up play-action for Buffalo's receivers. Detroit, however, continues to improve around an offense that features a few playmakers in D'Andre Swift and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Jared Goff will have a solid game too, but the pressure of keeping up with Buffalo in the second half will lead to a pair of turnovers. Von Miller chips in a pair of sacks. Buffalo will win, but they will fall to 1-4 ATS on the road. Pick: Bills 34, Lions 27): https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-picks-predictions-week-12/w3rsyuyzjfqzc1bnyzmxekhn

CBS Sullivan (Bills at Lions, Thursday:
The Lions have been rolling the past few weeks, but I just have a hard time betting against Josh Allen with this line under double figures. Yes, Detroit's defense has played better in its previous three games, but that was against the Packers, Bears and Giants. Buffalo's offense is a different animal entirely. Allen has historically played well on Thanksgiving as the Bills are 2-0 SU in both games and the QB registered a 100+ passer rating in each contest. While I believe Buffalo's offense can get into the 30s indoors at Ford Field, I don't see the Lions doing that in this setting. Specifically, I have my doubts because of the protection in front of Jared Goff. Detroit grades as the 24th-ranked pass-blocking team in the NFL this season, according to Pro Football Focus. Meanwhile, Buffalo is the third-best pass rush team in the league under the same grading system. CBS Dajani (Bills (7-3) at Lions (4-6):
Don't look now, but the Lions are on a three-game win streak! Just three teams have scored 30 or more points in five games this season, and this matchup features two of them. The third is the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions statistically have the No. 6 offense in the NFL (366.6 yards per game), but the defense is the worst in the NFL. Sill, Jared Goff and Co. and are coming off of a surprising 31-18 beatdown of the Giants last week. The Lions have lost five straight Thanksgiving games, and are 5-16 on the holiday over the past 21 years. Unfortunately for them, it looks like six straight losses on Thanksgiving are coming Thursday. The Bills have won two straight Thanksgiving games -- including a 31-6 beatdown of the New Orleans Saints last year. Despite falling behind to the Cleveland Browns 10-3 in the second quarter last week, the Bills reeled off 25 unanswered points, and ended up defeating Cleveland by eight points. Interestingly enough, that game was played in Detroit as well due to a Buffalo snowstorm. Betting against the Lions on Thanksgiving feels sacrilegious, yet profitable. My heart is rooting for Dan Campbell's squad to pull off a monster upset, but I think this could be a get-right spot for the Super Bowl favorites after a weird three weeks. I'm going to lay the points with the favorites. I'll lean to the Under as well. NFL.com (Bills win 30-23: The Lions went into their Week 6 bye ranked dead last -- by a healthy margin -- in defensive efficiency (DVOA) through five games. In the five games since, they are 14th. Progress! The effort is there. Detroit can slow down a Buffalo team trying to simplify life for Josh Allen, and the Lions' offensive line can lean on the Bills enough to make this an entertaining game. That's all we ask for, Lions!):

PFT’s NFL Week 12 2022 Picks (Bills (-9.5) at Lions - MDS’s take: The annual Detroit Thanksgiving bloodbath may not be quite as ugly for the home team this year, as the Lions are riding a three-game winning streak. But it’s awfully tough to imagine them beating the Bills. MDS’s pick: Bills 20, Lions 13. Florio’s take: The Lions will try to feast on kneecaps before turkey. If it was anyone but the Bills, that three-game winning streak would have a great chance of extending to four. Football Meteorology For 2022 NFL Week 12 (Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions (+9.5): As a Lions fan, I’m grateful for the three-game winning streak the team has right now; it’s first since 2017. Alas, there won’t be any extra gravy on that tasty meat. With both starting guards out with injuries and center Frank Ragnow probably in need of a game off himself, the Lions are in real trouble against a very underappreciated Bills defensive front. And that doesn’t even start with the idea of playing Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs without top CB Jeff Okudah, who is also out.
