Day 3 NFL Draft picks who will make an instant impact (Antoine Green, WR, Lions (Round 7, No. 219 overall): The Lions have just over 40% of their targets from 2022 available -- 227 of them to be exact -- and while the likes of second-round tight end Sam LaPorta, first-round versatile back Jahmyr Gibbs, and 33-year-old reliable vet Marvin Jones will eat into that opportunity, Detroit isn't super-deep at perimeter receiver. For as much as Jones has maintained a reasonable level of productivity in this long career, he's no longer a real vertical threat. That's precisely where Green can step in and stand out. At nearly 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Green ran 4.47. While his vertical was below average, his 6.99 time in the three-cone indicates above-average quickness, particularly relative to his size. How teams view QB situation following NFL Draft (Side-eye toward the future - Detroit Lions, Hendon Hooker, No. 68 overall: With all the talk of Hendon Hooker being a first-round pick, it was pretty surprising to see him fall to No. 68 overall. This wasn't because of his age, it wasn't because of his ACL, it was probably because of the offense he ran at Tennessee. Jared Goff has been playing well for Detroit, but is he the quarterback who can take the Lions where they want to go? It's a question many will be asking this season. 2023 NFL Draft: The best draft steal for every NFL team (Detroit Lions: Antoine Green, WR, North Carolina: It took Green three full seasons with the Tar Heels before he made an impact in his fourth and fifth years, but in 2022, he was North Carolina’s second-most productive receiver behind Josh Downs, who went in the third round to the Colts. Last season, Green — who the Lions stole with the second pick in the seventh round — caught 43 passes on 65 targets for 798 yards and seven touchdowns, and 10 of those catches, 22 of those targets, 402 yards, and four of those touchdowns came on passes of 20 or more air yards. Green ran a 4.47 40-yard dash at the scouting combine, and he’s not a pure burner on the field, but he could stick and stay as a third receiver with his ability to get open with route panache, and win at the catch point.
