Top 10 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year candidates in 2023: Lions duo to contend (3. Jack Campbell:  I will admit that I wasn’t as high on Campbell as the Lions were, but they certainly weren’t the only team bullish about his potential at the next level. Campbell plays with fairly average sideline-to-sideline speed, but he has a good feel for play development and finds his way to the football quite frequently. Inside linebackers who rack up tackles on good football teams have a track record of winning DROY. 8. Brian Branch:  Detroit head coach Dan Campbell announced that the non-contact injury suffered by C.J. Gardner-Johnson in Monday’s practice does not appear to be serious, which is great news. There still could be an opportunity for Branch to show Lions fans what he is capable of right off the bat, though. His NFL Scouting Combine testing failed to excite, but it doesn’t take much tape study to see that Branch is a pro-ready talent with strong coverage technique and tackle consistency. He can play both safety spots or the nickel, so he could be in position to make more plays than your average defensive back as a rookie.):  https://www.nfl.com/news/top-10-nfl-defensive-rookie-of-the-year-candidates-in-2023-lions-duo-to-contend

2023 NFL All Under 25 Offensive Team (Right tackle - Penei Sewell:  Sewell was a top 10 tackle last year, according to PFF (80.6), and the fourth-best run blocker among tackles (83). He was seen as a franchise left tackle in the 2021 NFL Draft, but enters 2023 as a Pro Bowl right tackle. Just 22 years old, Sewell has a long, and more than likely successful NFL career ahead of him.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-2023-all-under-25-offensive-team-chiefs-creed-humphrey-trey-smith-hold-down-trenches/

Longest NFL playoff droughts, ranking chances they end (2. Detroit Lions (six-year drought) - Last playoff appearance: 2016.  The Lions were just a Seattle Seahawks loss away in Week 18 last season from being off this list, yet the playoff drought appears set to end in 2023. Dan Campbell has this franchise heading in the right direction, as the Lions won seven of their last nine games to finish with their first winning record (9-8) since 2017.  The NFC North is up for grabs with Aaron Rodgers getting traded to the New York Jets, the Chicago Bears still in a rebuild with Justin Fields and the Minnesota Vikings could go in either direction. Doesn't hurt the NFC as a whole isn't very good either.  Detroit improved its 30th-ranked pass defense by revamping its entire secondary, while the pass rush is expected to take the next step with Aidan Hutchinson and James Houston. The offense revamped at running back with veteran David Montgomery replacing Jamaal Williams and rookie Jahmyr Gibbs taking over for D'Andre Swift. The Jared Goff-to-Amon-Ra St. Brown connection should be better than ever -- and Goff will be well protected by one of the top offensive lines in football. A playoff spot is there for the taking for the Lions, who just need to get off to a good start in 2023.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-teams-with-longest-playoff-droughts-ranking-chances-they-end-in-2023-jets-lions-primed-for-postseason/

5 NFL players who are in the 'best shape of their lives' heading into 2023 training camps (2.  DT Alim McNeill, Detroit Lions:  I’m not denying that an athletic human being who weighs over 300 pounds improves when they slim down. But this is general offensive line fodder.)  https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/nfl-players-best-shape-of-lives-2023-training-camp
