ESPN Tracker (Pre-Draft Analysis - Lovett is a slot receiver who led Georgia with 59 catches in 2024. The way he accelerates out of his breaks at the top of routes and upfield after the catch jumps out on tape. He can make the first defender miss when he gets into space. He's fast enough to make some plays downfield, too. Lovett drops some passes, but he makes plays in traffic, has the body control to adjust to passes thrown behind him and catches the ball in stride. Rotoworld (Lions selected Georgia WR Dominic Lovett with the No. 244 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Lovett (5’10/185) is an undersized receiver who has three 600-plus yard seasons on his resumé. While his production was never elite, Lovett carved out a role as a reliable slot receiver who can create extra yards after the catch. Over his last three seasons, Lovett played 84.8 percent of his snaps from the slot while averaging a respectable 6.7 YAC/REC. Often operating near the line of scrimmage, Lovett’s targets during his two years at Georgia garnered him an ADOT below 7.0, but he’s often praised for his route running and ability to fight for the ball in contested situations. C. Analysis: The loss of Kevin Zeitler in free agency pushed the Lions to grab Ratledge in the second round. The 6-foot-6 mauler plays with surprising leverage for his size and brings the attitude the Lions desire up front. Detroit gave up two 2026 third-round picks for a couple of sixth-rounders this year to trade up for TeSlaa, an athletic and intelligent pass catcher. Clearly, the Lions are willing to give up picks and jump the board for their guys. SI Booher Detroit Lions 2025 NFL Draft Grades (Round 7, pick 244: Dominic Lovett, WR, Georgia
Grade: C-. Lovett has intriguing speed and Holmes believes he could turn into a nice special teams piece, but he has struggled with drops throughout his collegiate career. He was productive, with over 600 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, but time will tell if he's able to overcome the drop issues.
