Early Predictions Regarding Lions Eligible For Contract Extensions:  https://www.si.com/nfl/lions/onsi/news/early-predictions-lions-eligible-contract-extensions-jahmyr-gibbs

NFL Week 15 buzz: What we're hearing about Daniel Jones, the upcoming coaching carousel and more (The Lions are approaching $1 billion in extension money for their bevy of stars, and this offseason will test that strategy of spending on homegrown talent yet again. The path forward seems clear, in part because of injury. Detroit has four stars eligible for deals coming up: running back Jahmyr Gibbs, linebacker Jack Campbell, safety Brian Branch and tight end Sam LaPorta. Branch and LaPorta are premier players at their positions, but both are out for the season due to injury (Branch to a torn Achilles and LaPorta to a back procedure). Like with Aidan Hutchinson in his return from a severe leg injury, the Lions might want to see both players take the field for an offseason or a few games before gauging when to pay them.  In the short term, that plan leaves more money for Gibbs, who is positioned to become the league's highest-paid running back soon enough. He's the deadliest open-field force in the league, getting better by the week, and the Lions keep giving him more in the passing game (31 targets over the past month). "He's just getting started," coach Dan Campbell said after Thursday's win over Dallas. And Campbell is worthy of a new deal due to his banner third season. So, my sense here is Detroit will push to get Gibbs done, gauge Campbell's market and wait and see on the other two.):  https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47257276/nfl-week-15-buzz-news-updates-fantasy-intel-questions-predictions

NFL pass-rusher rankings ahead of Week 15 (3. Aidan Hutchinson.  Week 14 Highlights - Highest Win Rate: Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions.  Hutchinson (35.4%) narrowly edged out Montez Sweat (35.3%) for the top pass-rush win rate of the week. Hutchinson’s clip is even more impressive when considering he rushed the passer 54 times, the most of any defender in Week 14 and his most in a game this season.  Season Highlights - Most Pressures: Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions.  Hutchinson bounced back from his least productive game of the season to record nine pressures in the Lions' Week 14 victory over the Cowboys, giving him a league-best 80 pressures for the season. It was the third time this season that he generated at least nine pressures in a game.):  https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pass-rusher-rankings-week-15-2025

2025 Third-Quarter All-Pro Team: Matthew Stafford, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Myles Garrett and more (RB: Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions.  RT: Penei Sewell, Detroit Lions.  LB: Jack Campbell, Detroit Lions.  Protector of the Year: T Penei Sewell, Detroit Lions - Given that this is the inaugural year for the award, it remains to be seen how voters will balance pass protection versus run blocking. Sewell is our highest-graded offensive lineman by a wide margin, thanks to an elite 98.2 run-blocking grade — 6.7 points higher than any other lineman with 500-plus snaps. However, his 77.0 pass-blocking grade (tied for 20th) could leave the door open if voters prioritize protection over dominance in the run game.):  https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2025-thrird-quarter-all-pro-team-matthew-stafford-jaxon-smith-njigba-myles-garrett-and-more

Bills QB Josh Allen, Rams WR Puka Nacua highlight Players of the Week (NFC Defensive Player of the Week - Al-Quadin Muhammad:  In a crucial 44-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, Muhammad rose to the moment, turning in a career-best three sacks for negative-24 yards to go along with three tackles, four QB hits and three tackles for loss.):  https://www.nfl.com/news/players-of-the-week-2025-week-14-josh-allen-puka-nacua

Top 15 running backs entering final stretch of 2025 NFL season (4.  Jahmyr Gibbs - 2025 stats: 13 games | 187 att | 1,062 rush yds | 5.7 ypc | 13 rush TD | 58 rec | 474 rec yds | 3 rec TD | 0 fumbles lost.  For the second straight season, Gibbs is dominating opposing defenses on the ground and through the air. He has posted five games with multiple touchdowns (three with at least three scores) and ranks second in scrimmage TDs, behind only Taylor. The Lions are 8-0 in games in which Gibbs scores a TD and 0-5 in contests when he doesn't reach the end zone. A heavy dose of Sonic should be on tap down the stretch, given that Detroit will face three opponents in the playoff picture and another with a top-three overall defense (Minnesota) over its last four games. Gibbs finished with nearly 2,000 scrimmage yards and 20 TDs last season. I won't be surprised if he hits those marks again.):  https://www.nfl.com/news/top-15-running-backs-entering-final-stretch-of-2025-nfl-season

Upset Alert: Why these 5 favorites could fall in Week 15 (Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Rams (-5.5):  The Lions' defense is banged up in a major way, most notably losing Brian Branch for the year due to an Achilles injury. Given the issues that they've had on that side of the ball, it's understandable to see the odds drastically in favor of the Rams here, especially after Los Angeles posted 45 points in a blowout win over the Cardinals. That said, Detroit's offense is still one of the NFL's most potent units and just dropped 44 points in a win against the Dallas Cowboys.  If this turns into a track meet, I think that's something Dan Campbell's team would welcome, as it'd give the Lions arguably their best chance to pull off the upset. It also shouldn't be overlooked that the Lions have the rest advantage in this matchup after playing last Thursday. For a team that's been dealing with a ton of injuries, that small break could be just what the doctor ordered to get a touch healthier and surprise folks in Week 15.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/upset-alert-week-15-favorites-could-fall/

NFL 2025 team grades 3 quarters through the season (Detroit Lions (8-5) - This grade might end up as an F if the Lions miss the playoffs. And they’re in danger of it. Detroit has too much talent to not be in the postseason, and failing to qualify after a 15-2 season would make for a really long offseason. Detroit still has shown signs of potential greatness, usually when Jahmyr Gibbs has the ball, so there’s still hope to save the season.  Grade: C):  https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/nfl-2025-team-grades-3-quarters-through-the-season-050851684.html

QB Rankings:

QB Power Rankings: Shedeur Sanders, Caleb Williams rise up (6 . Jared Goff Detroit Lions QB:  While Jared Goff's offensive line continues to suffer injuries left and right, he remains steady with 26 passing touchdowns, tied for the second-most in the NFL, and the fourth-best expected points added (EPA) per dropback (0.18) in the league. He is very dependent on the structure of his offense, but he's getting it done once again in 2025. (No change)):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/week-15-nfl-qb-power-rankings/
