Grades:

CBS (Lions Grade - A+:  The Lions went into Baltimore and bullied the Ravens on their home field with a dominant performance on both sides of the ball. The Lions' pass rush not only contained Lamar Jackson, but sacked him seven times, led by Al-Quadin Muhammad, who got credited with 2.5 sacks. Offensively, the Lions simply beat up on the Ravens: They had two TD drives of at least 96 yards in the game. David Montgomery averaged 12.6 yards per carry on a night where the Lions totaled 225 yards on the ground. And let's not forget about Jared Goff, who outdueled Jackson. Dan Campbell continued to show why he's one of the best coaches in the NFL: The Lions went for it on fourth down on three different occasions and converted all three attempts. There was some question about whether the Lions could recover from losing both of their coordinator this offseason, but after this win, the Lions once again look like one of the best teams in the NFL.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-week-3-grades-scores-results-highlights-browns-packers-vikings-bengals/

How Lions Currently Feel About Play of Terrion Arnold:  https://www.si.com/nfl/lions/news/how-lions-currently-feel-play-of-terrion-arnold

5 things to watch Week 3: Can Rams stop this superstar? (Super Bowl 60 preview in Baltimore? Both teams are 1-1 but that shouldn’t temper any expectations. The Lions and Ravens are still Super Bowl contenders.  Baltimore and Detroit had the league’s top two offenses last year, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the teams combined to score 93 points in Week 2. Lamar Jackson and Jared Goff are tied for a league-high with six touchdown passes through two weeks. Jackson’s 136.6 passer rating ranks No. 1 in the NFL.  The Ravens have won five straight contests versus the Lions. Baltimore is 6-1 all-time against Detroit.  Monday night could be a defensive struggle, but Week 3 is saving the best game for last.  “(The Detroit Lions) are very versatile. They've got a great group of guys (and are) very well coached. They're elite,” Ravens safety Malaki Starks said. “We have to be on our p’s and q’s. We have to be on (the) same page, have to communicate, but also just go out there and play ball, trusting our abilities and in our training and just go do what we can.”):  https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2025/09/19/nfl-week-3-watch-rams-saquon-barkley/86234222007/

Which NFL players are poised to break out for Week 3? (Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions:  Jahmyr Gibbs has been productive so far, but for his standards, he may be a little underwhelming thus far. Gibbs has carried the ball 21 times for 113 yards with zero touchdowns this season after two games. His numbers catching the ball out of the backfield have been really productive quantity-wise, with 13 catches on 13 targets, but he has only managed 41 yards receiving with no touchdowns. Against the Bears last weekend, the Lions started to move the ball around at will, but face a daunting task against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night. Given his involvement so far, a big game is coming, touchdown or yardage-wise, or perhaps both.):  https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/touchdown/2025/09/20/which-nfl-players-are-poised-to-break-out-for-week-3-on-sunday/86250209007/

The 10 best NFL player matchups of Week 3 (Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown vs. Baltimore Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey - After we were treated to a Super Bowl 59 rematch in Week 2 which lived up to the billing, Lions-Ravens on “Monday Night Football” should present another potential crystal ball look into a Super Bowl 60 matchup. When the Lions have the ball, all eyes will be on this duel.  Over the last few seasons, St. Brown has established himself as one of the NFL’s preeminent wide receivers. Since 2022, the Lions star leads all wideouts in PFF Wins Above Replacement, and he’s been just as dynamic in 2025. So far, St. Brown has registered an 87.0 PFF receiving grade, including an 83.3 mark in the slot — the sixth-best among qualifiers.  Meanwhile, Humphrey assembled a resurgent 2024 campaign, posting an 81.0 PFF coverage grade while playing 330 coverage snaps in the slot. This season, Humphrey has started a bit slower, generating a 55.1 PFF coverage grade and allowing a 140.1 passer rating when targeted in the slot, albeit with only 12.8 snaps per reception.  St. Brown will be Humphrey’s second difficult assignment in the young 2025 season. In Week 1, the 2024 All-Pro clashed with Bills receiver Khalil Shakir, yielding only one catch for 17 yards across 19 head-to-head coverage snaps.):  https://www.pff.com/news/the-10-best-nfl-player-matchups-of-week-3

NFL Week 3 bold predictions: Giants upset Chiefs; Vikings' Carson Wentz lights up Bengals (Lamar Jackson and Jared Goff throw five TDs apiece in Monday night shootout. - Confirming all of our expectations, two of the league's best offenses offer up some serious fireworks during Monday night's Lions-Ravens clash in Baltimore. Jackson and Goff are tied for the most TD passes (six) this season. They almost match those totals when they meet in prime time, tossing five touchdowns each.):  https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-week-3-bold-predictions-giants-upset-chiefs-vikings-carson-wentz-lights-up-bengals

PFF Grades and Data: Key insights for every NFL Week 3 game (Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens:  Since 2024, the Lions have run outside zone on 45.5% of rushing plays — only the 49ers and Falcons do it more. They’ve also posted one of the highest yards-per-attempt average on those runs (5.2), second only to Baltimore. This week, they draw those very Ravens, who have held opponents to just 3.7 YPA on outside zone runs since 2024, seventh-best in the NFL.  Stopping Derrick Henry is a tall order. Over the past two seasons, he’s led the league in yards after contact (1,272), and his 83 missed tackles forced ranks second behind Bijan Robinson. Meanwhile, Detroit’s defense has limited opposing rushers to just 2.7 yards after contact, which is top‑five league‑wide for that span.):  https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pff-grades-data-key-insights-nfl-week-3

NFL Week 3 Preview: Schedule, storylines, matchups to watch and betting spreads (Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens (-5) - Storyline: Contenders look to build momentum.  After suffering tough road losses in Week 1, both the Lions and Ravens bounced back en route to dominant victories at home in Week 2 against divisional opponents. The Lions doubled up the Bears, racking up seven touchdowns and 52 points, their highest output since Week 11 of last season. The Ravens also produced a massive day on the scoreboard, putting up their second 40-point game of the young season. Baltimore has scored an NFL-best 81 points on the year, 10 more than the next-best team.  Matchup to Watch: Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown vs. Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey  The Lions' offense rebounded in Week 2, highlighted by an impact performance from Amon-Ra St. Brown. The receiver erupted for 115 yards and three scores, on his way to earning the highest PFF receiving grade (91.4) among receivers with at least 10 routes run in Week 2.   Marlon Humphrey will be tasked with keeping St. Brown in check this week. After a strong performance in 2024, Humphrey has struggled in coverage to start the year. The veteran owns a 55.7 PFF coverage grade (64th out of 101 cornerbacks), due in large part to his issues with preventing chunk yardage. He has allowed four receptions of 15 or more yards and a 139.1 passer rating into his coverage. Now dealing with a groin injury, Humphrey has a tough task in Week 3.  Additional News:   Ravens EDGE Kyle Van Noy (hamstring) considered week-to-week.  Lions QB Jared Goff wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week):  https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-week-3-preview-schedule-storylines-matchups-2025

SN Iyer (Game of the Week: Lions at Ravens (-6, 52 o/u) - Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET, Fox.  The Detroit Lions are intent on making up for the 38-6 defeat they suffered in Baltimore in October 2023. They were motivated last week to explode with their offense to run away from the Bears and former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. The Baltimore Ravens will move the ball better here with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Detroit will make its share of big plays through ground and air but it won't be enough late.  Pick: Ravens win 30-27 but fail to cover the spread.):  https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-picks-predictions-against-spread-week-3/8e88bcd4329c1173b217a056

SN Bender (Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens (-6) - Monday, 8:15 p.m., ABC/ESPN.  Finally, a great Monday Night Football matchup. Baltimore beat Detroit 38-6 in their last meeting in 2023. We expect the offenses to put on a show, and the coaches will be on the spot for a few fourth-down decisions. The Lions are 4 of 5 on fourth down this season. Still taking the home team in a close one. The Ravens are 6-3-1 ATS as a home favorite since last season.  Pick: Ravens 34, Lions 31):  https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-picks-predictions-week-3/1026771b8c9b5f86a720b1ad

CBS Breech (Detroit (1-1) at Baltimore (1-1):  I know they lost in Week 1, but the Ravens might be scariest team in the NFL. They've played two games and they have hit the FORTY-POINT mark in both games. The Ravens are the fifth team over the past 20 years to open the season by scoring 40 points or more in back-to-back games and two of those five teams ended up winning the Super Bowl (2009 Saints, 2013 Broncos).   You could argue that the Ravens' weakest link on offense this season has been Derrick Henry. In Week 1, he had a huge game with 169 yards, but he also lost a fumble late in the fourth quarter that allowed the Bills to come back and win. In Week 2, he ran for just 23 yards. Based on how the first two weeks have gone, I feel like the Lions are going to get an angry Henry and let me just say that the last person I would ever want to tackle is an angry Henry. I have never tried to tackle a steamroller, but I feel like that's what it would be like to tackle Henry when he's angry.  Although Henry struggled against the Browns in Week 2, the Ravens still managed to score 41 points. Since there is clearly no way of stopping the Ravens' offense, the only question is whether the Lions will be able to keep up. This is a Detroit team that couldn't get out of its own way during a Week 1 loss where they scored just 13 points against the Packers. However, in Week 2, they looked like the Lions of old by scoring 51 points against the Bears in a game where Jared Goff threw five touchdown passes.  If you can get pressure on Goff, you can slow down the Lions' offense, but getting pressure on him could be difficult for a Ravens team that likely won't have Kyle Van Noy. The pass-rusher, who led the team in sacks last year, is dealing with a hamstring injury and most likely won't be playing, so that could open the door for Goff to have a huge night (Goff threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns in Week 2).  Even if Goff goes off, I can't pick against the Ravens. Not only do they have an angry Henry, but they're also 18-2 straight up in their past 20 home primetime games. PICK: Ravens 41-31 over Lions):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-week-3-picks-and-score-predictions-winless-giants-take-chiefs-to-the-wire-49ers-edge-unbeaten-cardinals/

Az Central Cliff (Monday Night Football prediction, Sept. 22
Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens:  The loser of this game will be 1-2 on the season. Both teams impressed in Week 2 wins after rough Week 1 losses. This game has the highest over/under point total in NFL Week 3 odds this week. The NFL Week 3 schedule will end with a classic.  Prediction: Ravens 31, Lions 30):  https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/nfl/2025/09/15/nfl-week-3-picks-predictions-scores-2025-season/84015795007/

CBS Prisco (Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens (-5.5):  This will be fun as both teams can score. The Lions scored 52 last week, while the Ravens scored 41. I don't think either will come close to those numbers, but they will get into the 30s. Look for the Ravens at home to win a fun shootout. Pick: Ravens 37, Lions 30):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/prisco-nfl-picks-week-3-odds-eagles-rams-ravens-lions/

Pro Picks: Eagles will beat the Rams in a playoff rematch (Detroit at Baltimore
Line: Ravens minus 5.  The Lions (1-1) put up 52 points and 511 yards, silencing the critics who thought losing Ben Johnson as offensive coordinator would slow down the offense. The Ravens (1-1) only needed Lamar Jackson’s arm — not his legs or Derrick Henry’s — to rout Cleveland with help from a couple of defensive scores. Oddsmakers are disrespecting the Lions with this line, especially with linebacker Kyle Van Noy and cornerback Marlon Humphrey injured for Baltimore. Jackson has a passer rating of 124.3 with 1,949 yards and 22 touchdowns in nine games on “Monday Night Football.”  RAVENS: 33-26):  https://apnews.com/article/barkley-hurts-stafford-eagles-rams-8555c799c04a1fc2e998f9d0d54b3f56

CBS Dajani/Taranto (Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens (-5.5) - Dajani (Ravens -5.5): People will say that the Lions' offense got back on track vs. the Chicago Bears, but my main takeaway was that this Bears defense stinks. I'm not ready to proclaim the Lions are back just yet. I have the Ravens winning this game, but the spread of course is a different matter. The Ravens have covered in five out of their past six games, and they are a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS on "Monday Night Football" since the start of the 2023 season. Ravens 27, Lions 21.  Taranto (Ravens -5.5): I'll take a similar tone in that I'm not sure if the Lions are as good as their Week 2 thrashing of the Bears or as bad as Week 1 against the Packers where they were the ones getting thrashed. This matchup will be a great opportunity to see where the Lions stack up among championship-contending NFL teams, but as of right now I'm hard-pressed to see any kinks in the Ravens' armor. Key Matchups That Will Decide Six of the Biggest Week 3 NFL Games (Lions (1–1) at Ravens (1–1) - Key matchup: The Ravens vs. the NFC.  Key stat: Lamar Jackson is 24–4 against the NFC in his career.  If the Lions are going to beat Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, they will need to do something we’ve only seen one NFC team do before: beat Baltimore in its building with Jackson under center.  Jackson has dominated the NFC in his career, sporting a 24–4 record. His only home loss came last year to the Eagles, falling 24–19 in Week 13. Otherwise, Jackson and the Ravens have been perfect in these spots, including a 38–6 thrashing of the Lions at M&T Bank Stadium in 2023, the last time these two teams met.

On that day, Jackson threw for 357 yards and three touchdowns on only 27 attempts while Jared Goff was sacked five times in defeat. Both teams ended up in their respective conference title games that season, with each falling a game short of the Super Bowl. For the Lions, the key will be shutting down the run. Through two weeks, Baltimore has 283 yards, fifth-best in football, while averaging a league-high 5.7 yards per carry. Success on the ground is nothing new for Baltimore, which has ranked in the top three in rushing yardage every year of Jackson’s career. So far in 2025, Detroit’s run defense has been decidedly average, ranking 15th in rushing yards per game against (106.0) and yards per carry (4.1).  To beat the Ravens in their house, the Lions will have to be nearly perfect. Even after last week’s 52–21 win over the Bears, there’s not enough evidence that they can do that.  Verderame’s verdict: Baltimore 34, Detroit 23):  https://www.si.com/nfl/key-matchups-biggest-week-3-nfl-games-2025

Lions vs Ravens: Last-minute thoughts and Week 3 final score pick (Final score prediction - I think the Lions can find offensive success in Baltimore with the balanced game plan and explosive weaponry. Unfortunately, I think the Ravens can find just a little more success, at home, against a Lions defense that has proven vulnerable to the big play--something Baltimore creates better than anyone Detroit will see the rest of the year.  Ravens 37, Lions 33):  https://lionswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2025/09/22/lions-vs-ravens-last-minute-thoughts-and-week-3-final-score-pick/86284989007/

Ravens vs. Lions live updates: Start time, TV channels for Monday Night Football (Ravens vs. Lions prediction - It's going to be a slugfest between the Ravens and the Lions. Baltimore has put up 81 points in its first two matchups of the 2025 season, while Detroit just hung 52 on a division rival. Tonight will be the first true litmus test for the Lions' two new coordinators and Dan Campbell against a relatively leaky defense but a high-powered offense. The Ravens, though, will defend home turf in a high-scoring affair.  Prediction: Ravens 34, Lions 30):  https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2025/09/22/ravens-lions-live-updates-score/86295042007/
