Pros and Cons of Detroit Lions Trading For Bengals Cornerback:  https://www.si.com/nfl/lions/onsi/news/pros-cons-detroit-lions-trading-for-bengals-cornerback

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat after his team's 1-6 start to the season (Detroit Lions
From Michael Griffey (@Mike__Griffey): Do you see the Lions making any trades at the deadline? Which players would they be interested in?  Michael, I think it’s logical to assume they’ll be looking for a pass rusher, like they were last year, to put opposite Aidan Hutchinson. So the two in Miami could be of interest, if you’re willing to take on money, or maybe Johnson if the Jets show willingness to part with him.):  https://www.si.com/nfl/albert-breer-mailbag-two-reasons-to-fire-dolphins-coach-mike-mcdaniel

Biggest Need for 17 Playoff Contenders Ahead of the NFL Trade Deadline:  https://www.si.com/collectibles/very-exclusive-2024-panini-eminence-football-release

The best and worst NFL offseasons ... as of Week 8: Barnwell stacks all 32 teams into seven tiers (Slightly below expectations.  Detroit Lions - Highlights: Re-signing Edge Al-Quadin Muhammad (one year, $1.4 million), drafting second-round G Tate Ratledge.  Disappointments: Drafting first-round DT Tyleik Williams, re-signing Edge Marcus Davenport (one year, $2.5 million).  The Lions didn't make many dramatic changes this offseason. Their big addition was cornerback D.J. Reed, who was off to a great start before suffering a hamstring injury and hitting injured reserve, which leaves him somewhere between these two poles. The acquire-in-bulk strategy across from Aidan Hutchinson on the defensive line has had mixed results, too; Muhammad has been a solid starting edge rusher, even if his five sacks and 10 knockdowns might overstate the 30-year-old's impact.  The oft-injured Davenport, on the other hand, lasted two games before returning to injured reserve for the third consecutive season. Williams has had a quiet start to his debut campaign, and the first-rounder saw his role in the rotation diminish after the return of Alim McNeill on Monday night against the Buccaneers. And while Ratledge has struggled with quick NFL defensive linemen at times, he has already become a valuable part of the interior for the Lions; his initial double-team and ability to seal off Tampa Bay linebacker Lavonte David at the second level sprung Jahmyr Gibbs on his 78-yard touchdown run against the Bucs earlier this week.):  https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46683459/2025-nfl-offseason-tiers-32-teams-best-worst-signings-trades-draft-barnwell

2025 NFL defensive line rankings ahead of Week 8: Houston Texans pass rush is becoming formidable (Week 7 Highlights - Most pressures: Indianapolis Colts & Detroit Lions:  The Colts and Lions defensive lines dominated in Week 7, each recording 33 pressures to help power their teams to victory.  DeForest Buckner led the Colts with nine pressures and an 84.7 pass-rush grade. Kwity Paye added eight pressures, while Laiatu Latu contributed seven. All three earned pass-rush win rates of 20% or better and combined for seven quarterback hits and three sacks.  Aidan Hutchinson continued his dominant stretch, pacing Detroit with 12 pressures and a 26.5% pass-rush win rate. Al-Quadin Muhammad added eight pressures and is in the midst of a career year with a 76.4 pass-rush grade. Alim McNeill returned to action for the first time this season and produced five pressures.):  https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-defensive-line-rankings-ahead-of-week-8-houston-texans-pass-rush-is-becoming-formidable

QB Power Rankings: Patriots' Drake Maye soars again (3. Jared Goff Detroit Lions QB:  Surgical is the best way to describe Goff. The guy can be rushed with elite pressure, but he's now on pace for his third straight 30-touchdown season in Detroit. The Lions are a powerhouse in part because of his resilient precision.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/week-8-nfl-qb-power-rankings-patriots-drake-maye/

Buy, sell or hold? What every NFL team should do (Holders - Detroit could maybe look to add in the secondary, but that may not be necessary after a dominating day in Week 7 against the Buccaneers.):  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-trade-deadline-2025-buy-sell-hold-teams/

NFL QB rankings, Week 8: Drake Maye enters top five; Jaxson Dart climbs past Jayden Daniels (TIER 3 - 11.  Jared Goff - 2025 stats: 7 games | 74.9 pct | 1631 pass yds | 8.0 ypa | 15 pass TDs | 3 INTs | 23 rush yds | 0 rush TDs | 3 fumbles.  The Buccaneers mixed up their pressure looks enough to force Jared Goff out of his comfort zone, a reality obscured by Jahmyr Gibbs' fantastic Monday night. Goff was nowhere near his best against Tampa Bay, accounting for two turnovers, but he still did enough to help the Lions grab an early lead and hold on to it.):  https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-qb-rankings-index-week-8-2025-nfl-season
