NFL.com Harrison's Picks (Detroit Lions 25, Miami Dolphins 21: When Adam Gase starts angrily citing HIPAA laws, you know things have gone south with his quarterback. Gase's prospective task now is to keep winning with Brock Osweiler under center. The Dolphins might not be a strong team, but they are 4-2 and hanging with the Chargers and Ravens in the early wild-card race. Detroit is trying to do the same in the NFC, but must steal this interconference deal on the road. With three other potential playoff teams in their division, the Lions can't lose to a career backup. Their remaining schedule is too unforgiving to drop this one in Miami. This matchup always reminds me of a sweet Sunday nighter from the Mike Patrick ESPN days, when another backup quarterback in Dave Krieg helped Detroit get hot late in the 1994 season, winning five out of six games before stumbling to Dan Marino and the Fins in Week 17. Still made the playoffs, though.): http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000975533/article/nfl-week-7-game-picks-chiefs-over-bengals-saints-top-ravens

SN Iyer's Picks (Detroit Lions at Miami Dolphins (TBD): Matt Patricia had to work on his run defense during the bye. Now look for him to apply what he learned in New England when it comes to beating Miami. He knows this is a tricky place to play and will keep in mind what happened to Chicago last week. Look for Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense to turn in a crisp, efficient performance as he out-duels (likely) Brock Osweiler and puts a quick end to "Brocktoberfest." PICK: Lions win 26-20.): http://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/week-7-nfl-picks-predictions-point-spreads-odds-lines-cowboys-redskins-chiefs-bengals/3z4y0cmr0nbr1attyqvix97h8

CBS Forneli's Picks (Detroit Lions (-2.5) at Miami Dolphins: Since the 2008 NFL season teams coming off a bye have gone 168-149-10 ATS. So, if you'd just blindly bet them you'd have made money, but not much. When you look closer, though, you see that teams coming off a bye are 101-70-7 ATS when they're favored in their first game back. Road favorites are 45-20-2 ATS when coming off a bye. All of which makes Detroit an enticing option here, don't you think? There's more to this pick, though. The fact is, as I mentioned earlier, while Miami won in OT against the Bears last week, it probably shouldn't have. The Bears had two red-zone turnovers in the game, and after Khalil Mack injured his ankle, any semblance of a Bears pass rush disappeared. Plus the team just looked tired on defense in the Miami heat. I'd take the Lions here no matter who is starting at QB for the Dolphins this week. NFL RealGM's Picks (Detroit Lions at Miami Dolphins (NL): Brocktober will continue in Miami as Brock Osweiler gets another start over Ryan Tannehill for the Dolphins. I’m not an Osweiler hater, and at this point, it’s hard to argue he doesn’t give Miami a better chance to win than the oft-injured and uninspiring Tannehill. But I’ve watched enough of Osweiler to know he’s apt to give the Lions defense multiple chances to make game-changing plays. Between that and a rested Lions offense coming off a bye with Kenny Golladay emerging as a fantastic receiver in his second season, I think the Lions roar on the road. Week 7 NFL picks straight up: Ravens slow down Saints; Jets upset Vikings (Detroit Lions (2-3) at Miami Dolphins (4-2): The Lions come off a bye and won their last outing, which was overshadowed by the kicking woes of the Packers’ Mason Crosby. They can accomplish a nice comeback from their disastrous season start by beating a Dolphins team that barely escaped a third straight loss when it scrambled back to beat the Bears in overtime. Ryan Tannehill might be back this week; it also might not matter much overall. Prediction: Dolphins, 27-20): http://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/week-7-nfl-picks-predictions-ravens-saints-jets-vikings-giants-falcons/1mjdgwmficnch1mnv649kxz72d
CBS WEEK 7 Prisco's picks (Detroit at Miami: It will be Brock Osweiler again for the Dolphins. He played well last week, but can he do it two games in a row? The Lions are coming off a bye, so they will be rested. Even so, their run defense has issues. Look for Frank Gore and Kenyan Drake to run wild here as the Dolphins get to 5-2. Pick: Dolphins 23, Lions 18): https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/pete-priscos-week-7-nfl-picks-ravens-defense-the-difference-in-win-over-saints/
PFT’S WEEK SEVEN PICKS (Lions at Dolphins: MDS’s take: Can a team really win two games in a row with Brock Osweiler at quarterback? I think so. The quarterback injury won’t be the difference, as Miami is probably the better team than Detroit whether Osweiler or Ryan Tannehill is at the helm. MDS’s pick: Dolphins 20, Lions 16. Florio’s take: Chris Simms is a firm believer in the notion that a bye week can make a team lose its intensity. He also thinks playing in Miami can do the same. The Lions get the double whammy. Let’s test his theory. Florio’s pick: Dolphins 20, Lions 17.): https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/10/18/pfts-week-seven-picks-8/
