Ranking the NFL's top five MVP candidates through six games: Who leads a wide-open race? (Just missed - Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions (+2200):  Goff's 5-1 Lions are off to their best start since 2011. He has shown he can lead Detroit to wins without his full supporting cast, including a win in Week 5 over Carolina without receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and a Week 6 victory at Tampa Bay after running back David Montgomery exited in the second quarter with a rib cartilage injury. NFL offensive line rankings ahead of Week 7 (1. DETROIT LIONS (UP 1) - Projected Week 7 starters:  LT Taylor Decker, LG Jonah Jackson, C Frank Ragnow, RG Graham Glasgow, RT Penei Sewell.  Detroit was without left guard Jonah Jackson against Tampa Bay. Jackson's replacement was Kayode Awosika, who earned a 61.8 PFF grade in his stead.  Despite being healthy, guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai did not see the field in Week 6, as Graham Glasgow appears to have taken over at right guard. FTW NFL QB Rankings, Week 7: Tua Tagovailoa usurps Brock Purdy at No. 1 (2. Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff, on the same level again - 5. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions: 0.151.  Mahomes’ ability to climb into the top tier will depend on one of his young wideouts stepping up to provide a viable every down target alongside Travis Kelce. Rashee Rice has looked like that guy in spurts, but he’ll have to be more consistent to push this offense back to great heights. Goff is on pace for a 4,500-yard, 31-touchdown season and a 105-plus passer rating. NFL Defense Rankings: Browns, Cowboys, and Jets Among the Best in Week 7 (10. Detroit Lions: These Detroit Lions are not your normal Lions. While they were gifted mistakes against the Chiefs, the unit put on a strong showing against the defending Super Bowl champions. The Seattle Seahawks’ offense moved the ball consistently against them, but that could be a trend for that particular offense moving forward if the past two weeks are any indication.  Detroit’s pass rush is dominant, and it should only improve as EDGE Julian Okwara returns to action from injured reserve. Fellow EDGE Aidan Hutchinson continues making plays that defy logic. He was seen by many as the best defensive player from his draft class, and he’s already performing as one of the best defensive players in the NFL in the trenches.  Losing CB Emmanuel Moseley after just getting him back is a tough blow for him and the team, but this organization is different than it’s been. NFL WR Power Rankings Week 7 2023: Tyreek Hill and Cooper Kupp Remain Among the Best in the NFL (15. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions:  It’s not often we see an entire group of amateurs on the internet who know better than the professionals tasked with selecting players. However, everyone but the league saw Amon-Ra St. Brown coming from a mile away.  St. Brown is a nifty player after the catch, and the improvements he’s made in his timing from the slot have made him a very friendly receiver to Jared Goff.  He’s not the biggest or most explosive receiver in the league, but St. Brown plays with impressive strength and fluidity.
