UDFA RB Rakeem Boyd

Scouting Reports:

SEC Scouting Reports for 2021 NFL Draft (Rakeem Boyd NFL Draft Scouting Report | Running Back - Positives: Instinctive college ball carrier who is best in a straight line. Patient, waits for blocks to develop, and displays a burst of speed. Follows blocks everywhere on the field, and displays strength carrying the ball and the ability to break tackles. Keeps his feet moving and works to pick up positive yardage any time the ball is in his hands. Possesses outstanding vision as well as instincts. Helps the quarterback sell ball fakes. Adjusts to the errant throw as a pass catcher and makes the reception in stride. Negatives: Lacks balance moving in any direction other than north and south. Not a quick cutback runner or an elusive ball carrier who makes defenders miss. Loses a lot of momentum-changing direction. Runs with an upright style.  Analysis: Boyd entered the season with high grades from NFL scouts yet turned in an average campaign, and in my opinion, he’s a straight-line ball carrier with limited upside.):  https://www.profootballnetwork.com/sec-scouting-reports-2021-nfl-draft/

Rankings:

Overall:

PFF Big Board (291. RB Rakeem Boyd):  https://www.pff.com/draft/big-board?season=2021

ESPN BPA (228. RB Rakeem Boyd - Pre-Draft Analysis:  Boyd has good size and plays faster on tape, but he doesn't have great power and ran slower than expected at his pro day. He's not a natural hands catcher, and he needs to get stronger in pass protection. -- Steve Muench):  https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft/bestavailable

Positional:

Walter Football RB (13. Arkansas - 4/26/21: Boyd struggled to find running lanes in 2020, but he could be a sleeper back who turns into a nice mid-round or third-day value.  8/29/20: Boyd went under the radar in 2019, but he was one of the best backs in the SEC last season. The Razorbacks will probably increase Boyd's workload under new head coach Sam Pittman. Boyd had only 184 carries last year, but he still went over 1,100 yards and notched eight scores. Boyd has also shown some nice receiving ability for a big back, as had good reception totals as a sophomore (23-165) and junior (19-160).):  https://walterfootball.com/draft2021RB.php
