Biggest strength and weakness for each team (Detroit Lions. Strength - The offense: The Lions offense as a whole is very good. Detroit is third in the NFL in points per game (28.0) -- and this is with being shut out in their last game. Detroit is second in the league in yards per game (411.8) and third in the league in passing touchdowns (11) and third in rushing touchdowns (seven). The Lions are also second in yards per carry (5.4) Detroit has also scored touchdowns on 75% of its red zone trips (15 of 20). Ben Johnson's offense has playmakers across the board and is one of the most balanced in the NFL. Weakness - The defense: As good as Detroit's offense is, that's how poor the Lions are on the opposite side of the ball. The Lions allow the most points (34.0) and yards per game (428.6). Detroit has allowed 127 first downs (most in NFL) along with the most rushing yards per game (167.6) and rushing touchdowns (10) in the league. If this defense was average, the Lions would have a winning record.): https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/biggest-strength-weakness-for-each-nfl-team-josh-allen-an-ultimate-weapon-why-chiefs-wont-reach-super-bowl/
10 NFL teams most likely to make a QB move in 2023 (9. Lions: Jared Goff has played good soldier as a quiet leader of the never-quit Lions, but 2023 will be year three of the Dan Campbell regime, and Goff, though just newly 28, is due $31M next year -- 11th among all QBs. With another top-five pick potentially on the way, Detroit almost can't afford to ignore the possibility of adding competition under center. Trading Goff, or designating him a post-June 1 release, might be the best way of ripping off the Band-Aid, unless they're that convinced they can make the defensive improvements to carry a Goff-led roster to their first playoff berth in over a half-decade.): https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-10-nfl-teams-most-likely-to-make-a-qb-move-in-2023-panthers-commanders-headline-neediest-franchises/
NFL coaches on the hot seat: Kliff Kingsbury, Nathaniel Hackett most likely to be fired next during 2022 season (6. Dan Campbell, Lions: Campbell loved living the "Hard Knocks" life and Detroit was a popular team to exceed expectations and get into NFC playoff contention in 2022. But the bottom line, no matter how good the offense has looked at times, the defense is awful and the team is still 1-4 coming out of a bye and coming off a terrible shutout loss at New England. That said, the Lions should remain patient with Campbell, attached at the hip with promising GM Brad Holmes. The team is sitting on more great draft capital in 2023 after the shrewd Matthew Stafford trade with the Rams. The Lions are likely to play the long game this time and let Campbell see the rebuild through.): https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-coaches-hot-seat-nathaniel-hackett-kliff-kingsbury/asrivoisnoviqv5hukzfi70u
NFL QB Rankings Week 7: Daniel Jones Has Been a Pleasant Surprise (Week 7 NFL QB Rankings | Tier 5: With a Little Help From Some Friends - Those in Tier 5 aren’t immune to winning but need a lot of help from their supporting cast and coaching staff to make that happen. Most of the time, though, they’ll be holding their team back. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions: Mostly doing alright until teams adapted to what the Lions were doing offensively, Goff has been impressive holding down the fort until a new quarterback takes over next year.): https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-qb-rankings-week-7-2022/
