We answered big NFL Week 11 questions: Are the Jags back? Big Lions comeback? Browns still in the hunt? (Lions - Should the Lions be worried about their NFC North lead? The Lions have been favored all season to win their first divisional crown since 1993, and while that goal seemed vulnerable at times Sunday with four turnovers, the Lions found a way to win. They still have four divisional games, including one vs. the Packers, two against the Vikings and one more against Chicago. The Lions' path won't be easy if they don't clean it up on both sides of the ball going forward. Still, Detroit is the only team this season to win after trailing by at least 10 with 4 minutes remaining. Teams were 0-83 before Sunday.  Stock up after the win: RB Jahmyr Gibbs. The No. 12 overall pick continues to grow more comfortable with each game. He has scored a rushing touchdown (five total) in his past four games, tying Kevin Jones (2004) and Barry Sanders (1989) for the longest streak by a Detroit rookie. Stock down after the win: QB Jared Goff. He struggled to deal with pressure from the Bears' defense, throwing three interceptions in a game for just the third time in his career and the first time since 2019, when he was still a member of the Los Angeles Rams. 2023 NFL season, Week 11: What We Learned from Sunday's games (Lions 31 Bears 26 - Kevin Patra's takeaways:  1. Detroit never says die in improbable comeback. The Lions trailed by 12 points with 4:15 left in a sloppy game that saw Jared Goff throw three interceptions. The ground game had been stymied, too, and nothing was going right for the NFC North leaders. Then Dan Campbell's crew hit the gas pedal at Ford Field. Goff dropped a perfect deep shot to Jameson Williams for a 32-yard touchdown, capping a scoring drive that took only 1:16 off the game clock. Detroit's D forced a quick three-and-out, and the Lions got the ball back down five points. Goff then led a masterful drive, hitting quick strikes, evading pressure, and steering the Lions to the doorstep of victory. Apropos, former Bears running back David Montgomery gave Detroit the lead with a 1-yard TD plunge with 29 seconds remaining. On a day when Detroit turned the ball over four times and rarely looked in sync, it was the type of gritty, turn-a-loss-into-a-win game that championship clubs need once or twice a year. These aren't your Same Old Lions.  2. Justin Fields sensational in return but Chicago comes up short. The Bears QB looked like himself after missing four games with a right thumb injury. With tape wrapped around the injured thumb, Fields proved a threat with his legs and made a host of great throws, particularly on the move. He paced Chicago with 104 rush yards on 18 carries, including a huge 29-yarder on third-and-14 in the fourth quarter to help the Bears flip a halftime deficit into a 12-point lead late. Fields consistently kept the Bears' offense in good down and distances. OC Luke Getsy called a good game, dialing up boots and moving the pocket, and Fields made the correct reads. The biggest negative for Fields was missing a few deep shots, but he dropped a 39-yard dime to DJ Moore after climbing the pocket in the third quarter. Fields showed he can be a dynamic quarterback, but the end of the story remains the same for the Bears, who continue to meander in the wilderness under coach Matt Eberflus with a brutal collapse.   3. Aidan Hutchinson calls game. The Lions’ best pass rusher showed up late, winning off the edge to strip Fields on the first play after Detroit took the lead in the fourth quarter. The ball bounced around, eventually getting booted out of the end zone for a game-sealing safety. The sack was the first for Hutchinson since Week 5. The Lions need more from the pass rush moving forward. Detroit's D has struggled in recent weeks, and on Sunday, it failed to get quick stops until the end, allowing the Bears to generate 334 yards and 25 first downs. But Aaron Glenn's crew bowed up several times, keeping the Bears scoreless on possessions following two early INTs and forcing Chicago to settle for field goals. Those plays, including holding the Bears to 5 of 13 on third downs, gave the offense enough time to get back on track.  Next Gen stat of the game: Lions QB Jared Goff completed 3 of 7 passes under pressure for 32 yards and two INTs through the first three quarters, but he completed 6 of 8 such passes for 87 yards and a TD in the fourth quarter.  NFL Research: Jahmyr Gibbs recorded his fourth consecutive game with a rush TD (fifth rush TD of the season). NFL Winners and Losers: Commanders need to change coaches, give Eric Bieniemy a shot (Winners - Jared Goff: He didn't play well, but he did enough at the end to lead the Detroit Lions to a win. That's all anyone will remember from Sunday's game.  Goff threw three interceptions and it looked like the Lions would blow a home game to the Chicago Bears. But the Lions scored late, Justin Fields barely missed a deep third-down pass that would have put the game away and Goff led a game-winning drive in the final minute. The Lions added on a safety and won 31-26. Their chances of getting the No. 1 seed in the NFC are still alive, whereas a loss to the Bears would probably have ruined that dream.  It says something about the 2023 Lions that they can overcome a three-interception game from their quarterback. 32 things we learned in NFL Week 11: Unique playoff field brewing? (1. Tip of the cap to the NFL's research department here, but what a singular playoff field we might have coalescing. Only four teams in the league have never reached the Super Bowl: The Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. If the season ended today – it doesn’t – the entire quartet would qualify for the postseason. 1a. This is the first time all four of those clubs have had a winning record this late in a season.  2. The Lions, who have never won the NFC North crown nor ever hosted a playoff game at Ford Field, are 8-2 to start a season for the first time since 1962. Jared Goff, C.J. Stroud, Zach Wilson and the grossest NFL quarterbacks of Week 11 (4.  Jared Goff, Detroit Lions - 2023 expected points added (EPA) per game: 7.1.  Week 11 EPA: 0.6.  Woof. Fortunately for Goff, his two interceptions were balanced off by a punt and fumble, leading to zero points off turnovers from a Chicago Bears team that plays each game with the foresight and care of a teenager buying Craigslist subwoofers for his used Honda. That wasn’t the case with his third; a tipped-pick that set the Bears up for a 20-yard drive into field goal range that gave Chicago a two-possession lead in the fourth quarter.  The Lions overcame that deficit, in part because of a solid defensive effort and in part because it behooves a hopeless Chicago team to lose games. Goff, to his credit, completed 10 of 12 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown to turn a 26-14 deficit into a 31-26 win.  Even so, it was a frustrating turn for a quarterback who’d spent the first half of 2023 building the case he could lead the Lions to a Super Bowl. Beating the Bears and beating the San Francisco 49ers or Philadelphia Eagles are very different asks. Goff course corrected in time to avoid disaster in Week 11, but also had the perfect opponent to enable him. CBS Grades (Lions:  B-.  Jared Goff had a total meltdown in this game with three interceptions over the first three quarters, but he was able to shake those off to lead two TD drives in the final four minutes to pull out the win. On those two drives, Goff went 11 of 13 for 115 yards and one TD. Former Bears running back David Montgomery got revenge on his old team: Not only did he average 6.3 yards per carry with 12 rushes for 76 yards, but he also scored what proved to be the game-winning touchdown.
