Goff had a historic Monday night, completing all 18 of his pass attempts to become the first QB in NFL history with a perfect completion percentage (min. 15 attempts). He executed in classic West Coast offense fashion by hitting his receivers in stride and delivering sharp passes out of play-action. He even caught a touchdown pass thrown by teammate Amon-Ra St. Brown. Ranking NFL's teams with winning records: Steelers last (3. Lions (3-1) - Like last year, the Lions' pass defense is extremely suspect. But they're exceptional in most other areas, just as they were a year ago.  Speaking of exceptional, Jared Goff was a perfect 18 of 18 this past Monday night. Goff may not be a future Hall of Famer, but he's proven that he's more than good enough to lead a team to the Super Bowl if everything else is in order. Overreactions for every NFL team after 4 weeks (Detroit Lions - They are the best team in the NFC.  Overreaction or reality: Reality.  Hard to say this after four weeks when the Lions aren't even leading their own division, but the Lions have proven they are the Super Bowl contenders we thought. They are seventh in points per possession (2.41) and sixth in yards per possession (36.1) and are starting to find their stride on offense. Also helps they have playmakers across the board.   Detroit is 3-0 against the NFC West, but had a statement win over Seattle in Week 4. Right now, the Lions are as good as advertised. Ranking all eight NFL divisions: NFC North leads way (1. NFC North - 1. Minnesota Vikings (4-0).  2. Detroit Lions (3-1).  3. Green Bay Packers (2-2).  4. Chicago Bears (2-2).  Most could've predicted the North would be near the top of these rankings ahead of the season, but no one would've tabbed the Vikings No. 1. And yet, Kevin O'Connell's ultra-deep, ultra-balanced lineup might be the most complete in the NFL. Sam Darnold has been MVP-worthy as a resilient signal-caller, Justin Jefferson is back to healthy All-Pro form, and Brian Flores' defense has mostly been a terror, leaving even elite quarterbacks in a tizzy. The Lions have flashed their own dominant offense, with David Montgomery and Jameson Williams taking strides. The Packers survived Jordan Love's absence and now welcome back his electric arm. 2024 NFL Defense Rankings: Insights on Why Jets, Ravens, Chiefs Lead Pack (17. Detroit Lions - Grade: C, Score: 53.  This is an appropriate spot for this physical defense, which is just too inconsistent. The Lions rank 10th in both third-down conversion rate and turnover percentage and a respectable ninth in EPA against the rush.  But Detroit also allows the 22nd-most yards per play, owns the 23rd-worst defensive EPA per game, and ranks 23rd in EPA per dropback.  After enjoying its bye week, the Lions will return with games against the Cowboys and Vikings.):  https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-defense-rankings/

Amari Cooper Landing Spots: Analyzing Chiefs, Commanders, Lions as Potential Fits for Browns WR (Potential Landing Spots for Cooper - Detroit Lions:  Former first-round pick Jameson Williams appears to have turned the corner in his third NFL campaign. He’s posted at least 75 yards in three of Detroit’s first four games and showed off his speed with a 70-yard catch-and-run TD against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night. Jared Goff has plenty of weapons. Any quarterback would love to play with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, and Sam LaPorta — and we haven’t even mentioned the Lions’ league-best offensive line. Still, Detroit is undoubtedly in its Super Bowl window. General manager Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell have methodically rebuilt the Lions’ roster. If they’re ready for an all-in sort of move, Cooper might be in the mix.
