Sorting the Sunday Pile, NFL Week 7 (The Lions are a truck - Give credit to the Vikings for their performance on Sunday: I don't think this was a case of a "bad loss" and they're still 5-1 on the season after losing 31-29 to the Lions in what turned into an incredible game. But the Lions are just great.  Losing Aiden Hutchinson is going to be a problem for the defense, but they still generated pressure on Sam Darnold.  And the offense is just picking everyone up. Jared Goff is playing incredible football right now. The Lions offense has more touchdowns (18) than incompletions (16) in their last four games, the first team in NFL history to do so since the 1959-60 Cleveland Browns who did it over two years. The Lions are the only team to do it in the same season since at least 1940. Goff's 85.3 percent completion rate is the highest over a four-game span in NFL history. His 153.1 passer rating over the last three games is the highest in NFL history since 1970. The Lions 120 points over the last three weeks are the most since 1997, when Barry Sanders went Full Barry over a three-game stretch while rushing for just shy of 500 yards. Dan Campbell provided another excellent postgame speech and he continues to pull all the right levers with this team. They're getting production from everywhere. Saquon Barkley red-hot in revenge game; Brock Purdy still can't beat Chiefs (WHO'S HOT - Jared Goff, QB, Lions:  This isn't the 2020 Los Angeles Rams' QB. Goff is on a heater. He went 22-of-25 for 280 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Detroit's win over the previously undefeated Minnesota Vikings.  Over the past three games, Goff is 58-of-68 (85.3%) for 887 yards, with seven touchdowns and no interceptions for a 153.1 passer rating. Goff's play is one of the main reasons why the Lions are the top team in the NFC at this point of the season. NFL Offensive Line Rankings 2024: Stacking All 32 OLs Entering Week 8 (1. Detroit Lions - Starting five: LT Taylor Decker, LG Graham Glasgow, C Frank Ragnow, RG Kevin Zeitler, RT Penei Sewell.  All-Pro right tackle Penei Sewell spearheads Detroit’s dominant offensive line. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has figured out how to weaponize the former first-round pick in the run game, getting him into space and letting him go to work. Sewell even received a lateral on a hook-and-ladder play against the Cowboys in Week 6.  Frank Ragnow might be the NFL’s best center now that Jason Kelce is retired. He missed one game with a pectoral injury but returned to offer his usual standout play in Week 6. Jared Goff has myriad offensive weapons to work with, but the Lions’ offensive line is their weekly identity.
