The NFL's biggest disappointments through the first quarter of the season (QB Jared Goff, Detroit Lions:  There doesn’t seem to be much chatter about Goff this season (after all, he just led the Lions to a magical year), but his 2024 largely hasn’t been up to par with what we’ve come to expect, even after his spectacular Monday night showing.  After receiving a four-year, $212 million extension in May, Goff has been nowhere near the caliber he was to warrant that deal. Among the 33 quarterbacks with 50-plus dropbacks this year, Goff ranks 25th in overall grade and 26th in passing grade. Gibbs was efficient in his opportunities, carrying the ball 14 times for 78 yards (5.6 yards per attempt) with a pair of second-quarter touchdowns. He and the Lions hit the bye week on a high note.  13.  David Montgomery (2024 stats: 4 games | 63 att | 271 rush yds | 4.3 ypc | 4 rush TDs | 9 rec | 94 rec yds | 0 rec TDs | 0 fumbles lost):  No one should be surprised Montgomery scored on Monday night. Top 10 offensive and defensive play-caller duos (The two best duos
Chiefs: HC Andy Reid (OC Matt Nagy), DC Steve Spagnuolo and Lions: OC Ben Johnson, DC Aaron Glenn. There's a reason Johnson has been arguably the most sought-after name on the market in each of the last two offseasons. He consistently puts his players in position to succeed; he sequences plays better than almost anyone; and he is willing to do what's working until his opponent proves it can stop it. Glenn has been more up-and-down, but that, again, is largely based on personnel. Whenever he's had the defensive backs to ramp up the aggression up front, his unit has performed quite well. 2024 NFL QB Rankings: Josh Allen Replaced at No. 1 Spot, Jared Goff Skyrockets (4. Jared Goff - Grade: B (74).  Jared Goff was tied for 15th in last week’s rankings but now owns the No. 4 spot. That’s a meteoric rise for a player who continues to establish himself as one of the more consistent QBs in the game.  The traditional stats won’t blow you away. In the first four games, Goff averaged 254 yards per contest while throwing five TDs and four picks.  However, Goff ranks sixth in yards per attempt (8.2), fourth in completion percentage (71%), and 10th in QB EPA.  Is Goff elite?
