NFL Draft RB rankings: Bijan Robinson stands out in deep class (9. Kenny McIntosh, Georgia, 6'1, 210 pounds, Senior.  Overview: Growing up in the football-rich state of Florida, McIntosh earned a four-star grade from recruiters, opting to sign with Georgia rather than follow his older brothers RJ (Miami) and Deon (Notre Dame/Washington State). Despite joining a backfield full of future NFL draft picks, McIntosh immediately carved out playing time, averaging an eye-popping 7.0 yards per carry on 25 totes as a true freshman. Nevertheless, McIntosh remained more of a sub than star until emerging as Georgia's top dawg as a senior, setting career highs in rushing yards (829), receptions (43), receiving yards (505) and overall touchdowns (12) before capping his career with a strong effort at the Senior Bowl.   Strengths: McIntosh looks the part of an NFL back with a muscled-up, athletic frame and good size. Quick to and through the hole, showing vision, burst and patience, when needed. McIntosh's best attribute might be his balance through contact. He takes the fight to would-be tacklers, initiating contact and bouncing off or simply driving through opponents. McIntosh also possesses good lateral agility and is a smooth accelerator with good top-end speed. He possesses soft hands and impressive body control to adjust to poorly thrown balls, as well as good ball security with three forced fumbles in 369 career touches at Georgia.  Concerns: He isn't dynamic enough to consistently create on his own. He was also surrounded by a veritable all-star team at Georgia and exploited a lot of wide-open rushing lanes. 2023 Senior Bowl: Thursday's American Team Practice Report (Georgia running back Kenny McIntosh finished his week with some good runs on Thursday. He used his power frame to push a pile and get into the end zone in the goal-line scrimmage. McIntosh also ripped off a touchdown run from about 20 yards out, starting to slash to the left before cutting to the right and exploding down the field. McIntosh also functioned well as a receiver over the practices this week, which he did well at Georgia last fall as well. 2023 Senior Bowl preview: 4 players to watch for Detroit Lions (Kenny McIntosh: RB, Georgia - The Lions could very much be looking towards the future at running back with yet another year of D’Andre Swift hampered by injury. McIntosh could fill that role nicely, because he not only has some of the athletic and pass-catching skills that Swift does, but he’s bigger (6-foot, 207 pounds) and more physical of a runner than Swift is. That said, while he does have great athleticism, he doesn’t quite have the breakaway speed Swift does. Five stars from Senior Bowl Day 1: BYU WR rising (3. Georgia RB Kenny McIntosh has injury scare.  McIntosh entered Senior Bowl week as one of the more exciting backs in Mobile but left his first practic early with what initially appeared to be a scary injury.  McIntosh went down and was tended to by trainers after running a route and trying to corral a loose ball on the Hancock Whitney Stadium turf. He remained down for several minutes before walking off under his own power.  Fortunately, the injury is not considered serious. NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported it was a cramp in his calf. Several players spoke after practice about the unexpectedly hot conditions and how coaches reminded them frequently to hydrate.  McIntosh passed his first test in the event's weigh-in, coming in at 210 pounds (his listed weight on Georgia's roster) and just under 6-foot. UGA Players Measure in at Senior Bowl, Kenny McIntosh Already Impressing (Running back Kenny McIntosh will have questions about his ability to withstand a large workload on the NFL level, and people will be surprised to know he will likely be one of the bigger backs available in the class, measuring in at 5'11 7/8", 210 pounds, with 9" hands, 30 5/8" arms, and a 76 5/8" wingspan. He's expected to have a great week at the senior bowl practice sessions. Additionally, McIntosh played through a handful of injuries this season according to sources. Most notably a deep-thigh bruise the during the middle of the season in the lead up to the Missouri contest. Kenny McIntosh - Georgia Bulldogs:  The Georgia Bulldogs' history with elite-level Running Backs is out of this world. So it seems fitting to start with the next man set to burst onto the scene in Athens.  McIntosh has been with the Bulldogs for three years now. He'll head into the 2022 season, ready for a primary role. The senior Running Back has had to be patient, working behind Zamir White and James Cook in the 2021 campaign. Those guys are both suiting up on Sundays, leaving their 270+ combined carries and 18 rushing touchdowns last year up for grabs.  McIntosh worked as the third option in the run game but played a more significant role as a pass-catcher. James Cook had 27 receptions, but Kenny McIntosh was close behind with 22 of his own. He's able to create separation out of the backfield and has some remarkably impressive hands. Once he picks up the football, his juke-ability and twitchy play style serves him well. He'll continue to pick up targets in the passing game, where he can do some of his best work. This season is about displaying what he can do as a true ball carrier between the tackles as he builds a resume for the pro scouts.  Look for the Senior's ability to change direction in a split second, making the first man miss at the line of scrimmage. He's got a strong burst step that allows him to hit the gap fast. On tape, that often causes an oncoming linebacker to resort to throwing out an arm tackle in the hope of slowing him down. At six-foot-one, he plays fast, shifty, and can glide through small gaps to create positive gains. College football fans should look forward to Kenny McIntosh getting a full season of work.) Running backs to watch for the 2023 NFL draft (Kenny McIntosh, Georgia:  Rated as a consensus four-star prospect coming out of the University School in Florida, Kenny McIntosh saw time on both offense and defense while in high school. He enrolled at Georgia, and has been part of a crowded running back room ever since. During his freshman season he played in 12 games, running for 174 yards on just 25 carries.  During the 2020 season, he finished as Georgia’s third-leading rusher with 251 yards on just 47 carries. He also contributed on special teams, and notched kickoff returns of 48 and 43 yards in Georgia’s victory over Arkansas.  This past season, McIntosh finished with 58 carries for 328 yards and three touchdowns, and had eight kickoff returns for 157 yards. He also threw a touchdown in the Orange Bowl as Georgia advanced to the National Championship game. During the year he split time with Zamir White, James Cook and Kendall Milton. But with White off to Las Vegas with the Raiders and Cook off to Buffalo with the Bills, McIntosh has a chance to put together an NFL resume this fall, and his ability to contribute on special teams will help in that effort.)
