Five teams that must 'win the draft' this weekend (Detroit Lions - Dan Campbell has this team believing in its ability to emerge as a Super Bowl contender, but the Lions need a few more blue-chip pieces to complete their championship puzzle. With a pair of first-round picks, the Lions must cash their lottery tickets for a couple of blue-chip players with All-Pro-caliber potential at marquee spots. Whether the team elects to utilize a pick on an interior pass rusher, lock-down corner or future franchise quarterback, the Lions must come away with a pair of blue-chippers to separate from the pack of aspiring playoff contenders in the NFC. If the Lions seize their opportunity over draft weekend, this scrappy, feel-good squad could quickly join the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles as frontrunners in the NFC title chase.): https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/five-teams-that-must-win-the-draft-this-weekend
Most pressing 2023 NFL Draft need for every NFC team (Lions: Defensive tackle. After drafting edge rushers Aidan Hutchinson, James Houston and Josh Paschal a year ago, Detroit's primary need is defensive tackle. The Lions could also stand to upgrade at linebacker and find a long-term star at the cornerback position if the opportunity presents itself. Tight end is also a need after trading T.J. Hockenson to Minnesota, but it is not a vital part of the offense. The NFC franchise has picks Nos. 6 and 18 in the first round, so there is ample opportunity to address a few of those needs.): https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2023-nfl-draft-examining-the-top-need-for-every-nfc-team-after-free-agency-other-offseason-moves/
NFL Draft 2023: Trade down, trade up or stay put? The best plan for all 31 picks in the first round (6. Lions: Trade down. Staying put works just as well. But odds are, even with another first in their back pocket, they'll be able to slide down a few spots and still come away with a top prospect at a position of need (CB, DT, DE). They're also in a prime spot for QB-needy teams interested in moving up ahead of the Raiders, who are strong candidates to consider Anthony Richardson and/or Will Levis. 18. Lions: Stay put. We have them looking to move down from No. 6 above. In that case, it'd behoove the Lions to hang tight here and address whichever need they can't fill earlier. An edge rusher could be a solid target in this range, where guys like Myles Murphy, Will McDonald and Keion White are likely to be on the board and capable of plugging in alongside Aidan Hutchinson.): https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nfl-draft-2023-trade-down-trade-up-or-stay-put-the-best-plan-for-all-31-picks-in-the-first-round/
