Walter football (7. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama.Previously: 7 Avg. 16.5 per 32.  04/19/23: In 2022, Gibbs averaged 6.1 yards per carry for 926 yards and seven touchdowns. He also turned 44 receptions into 444 yards and three scores. For the NFL, Gibbs looks like a future three-down starter. He is put together well with a serious burst to accelerate to the second level. Gibbs is one of the fastest backs to enter the NFL in years, and his speed is similar to players like Chris Johnson or Alvin Kamara. On top of great speed, Gibbs is a tough runner who shows excellent cutting ability to weave through the defense. He also is a good receiver and will be an asset in the passing game.  Gibbs looks like a safe choice in the 2023 NFL Draft for a team in need of a three-down back. Some team sources thinks Gibbs is one of the best football players in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he will slide because of teams not emphasizing taking running backs high. However a survey of teams by WalterFootball.com found that the vast majority had him graded in Round 1, so he could easily be selected on the opening night of the 2023 NFL Draft.):  https://walterfootball.com/nfldraftbigboard

2023 NFL Draft: Final top 150 prospect rankings (14. Jahmyr Gibbs:  Alabama's Gibbs is the second-highest ranked running back and the No. 14 prospect overall. Jalen Carter slides; Bijan Robinson rises in Joel Klatt's Top 50 NFL Draft prospects (19. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama (Previous rank: 18):  "I love him and his versatility. His ability to catch out of the backfield makes him so dangerous. He can line up as a slot receiver. You can throw it to him in the backfield. You can throw a screen pass to him. He's got some home run ability that some other running backs in this class don't have. He makes people miss in space.") DJ's top 150 rankings: 2 QBs fall; WR1 gap narrows (29.  Jahmyr Gibbs:  Gibbs has average size, but he offers outstanding burst and versatility. As a runner, he excels when he can get to the perimeter, either from the backfield or from the slot on jet sweeps. He explodes to the edge. Gibbs can set up blocks in space and rely on a nasty stiff-arm. On inside runs, he needs daylight. He lacks the lower-body power to push the pile. He has good vision and he’s decisive. He is a weapon in the passing game, as he can run wide receiver routes and he easily catches the ball. In pass pro, he attacks linebackers, closing down their runway and stopping their charge. He is very aware. Overall, Gibbs isn’t quite as strong as Alvin Kamara, but the rest of his game is almost identical to that of the Saints’ star running back.) 2023 NFL Draft: NFL comparisons for the top 50 prospects (31. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama: Alvin Kamara:  It’s the obvious comparison, it’s the one everybody is using, and while I could try to be cute and go elsewhere, it just makes too much sense. Selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 draft, Kamara was the ideal lightning/satellite back in Sean Payton’s offense. Payton helped to force the advent of the base nickel defense by moving Reggie Bush from the backfield to the slot, Kamara was a furtherance of that paradigm, and in a lot of ways, Gibbs is the next step in the progression — or, at the very least, a very good copy of the original.) Rang's 2023 NFL Draft prospect rankings, board: 100 best available players (39. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama, 5-10, 200, Junior:  A transfer from Georgia Tech who led the Tide in rushing yards and receptions in 2022, Gibbs is one of the rare former Alabama players who might be actually underrated, with some Alvin Kamara-like tape to his credit.) Middlehurst-Schwartz NFL draft top 50 rankings: QBs Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud rank high – but not No. 1 overall (40. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama:  If selecting the 5-9, 199-pound Georgia Tech transfer, say goodbye to an old-fashioned running back workload and hello to a handful of big plays. Getting into space and making defenders miss en route to big gains will be Gibbs' calling card as a runner, though his true value might rest with his receiving prowess.):  https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2023/04/13/nfl-draft-rankings-2023-bryce-young-cj-stroud/11640565002/
