Ranking Remaining Strength of Schedule for Every NFL Playoff Contender in NFC (4. Lions (.535, 9th toughest) - Current standing: 6-4, No. 8 seed.  Remaining opponents: Giants, Packers, Cowboys, at Rams, Steelers, at Vikings, at Bears.  It feels hard to believe, but with a loss to the Eagles on Sunday, the Lions have temporarily fallen out of the playoff picture and currently are the eighth seed. Detroit is still 6-4 and in the thick of the NFC North race, but winning the remainder of their divisional matchups will be critical for them to try to win the division again.  As of now, the NFC North once again appears to be the most competitive division down the stretch. NFL: Report card grades in the NFC North for Week 11 (Detroit Lions - Offensive Grade: D.  Detroit’s offense was taken out of its comfort zone by a tough Philadelphia defense. The Lions’ 5th–ranked offense was unable to run the ball efficiently and score points. Philadelphia held Detroit to 74 yards on 21 carries (3.5 average) and made it a nightmare for Detroit receivers to find open space. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs led all receivers with five catches for 107 yards. Quarterback Jared Goff had his worst performance of the season, completing 14 of 37 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.  Defensive Grade: A-.  The Lions were stout on defense, limiting Philadelphia to 124 passing yards and 148 rushing yards. The defense was unable to penetrate Philadelphia’s offensive line, finishing with one sack and zero turnovers. This was the first game Detroit showed an inability to apply constant pressure to the opposing quarterback.  Overall Grade: C-.  Week eleven was a wakeup call to one of the best teams in the NFC. Detroit had been firing on all cylinders until Sunday Night Football. NFL: Takeaways from Week 11 in the NFC North (Lions:  Detroit’s Running Game Stopped.  Detroit entered Sunday night’s game with the league’s 7th–ranked rushing attack. Throughout the season, the Lions’ ground game has opened the doors to a successful passing attack. However, Philadelphia limited Detroit to 74 yards on 21 carries (3.5 average). In doing so, the Lions had limited production in the air.  The Lions Defense Kept the Game Close.  Detroit’s defense has been one of the league’s best this season. They rank 5th in yards per game, 6th in sacks, and 10th in points allowed per game. Sunday night, the defense limited Philadelphia to 16 points in the team’s 16-9 loss. QB Stock Market Week 12: Does Sam Darnold Have a Big-Game Complex? (8 Jared Goff - Previously ranked: 4. .He completed 37.8% of his passes for … 255 yards?  There are a lot of parts about this game that feel inexplicable — and hard to reconcile in terms of analyzing where the Lions go from here. But let’s start with a few truths from this game:  1. Goff looked hurried on the vast majority of his dropbacks and it had catastrophic results. Against pressure, the Lions QB was 1 of 14 for a 40-yard touchdown, per Next Gen Stats. He had a completion percentage over expected of -33.6% (against pressure).  2. Receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams each had at least one drop that ended drives.  3. Cornerback Cooper DeJean did a very, very nice job in coverage against St. Brown.  4.  The Eagles' defensive line batted five passes at the line of scrimmage.  5.  The weather was cold and blustery, which are notoriously difficult conditions for Goff.  So … now what?  There are elements of this game that the Lions can address — and then turn into an outlier. The Eagles seemed to get unsustainably lucky (with all the tipped passes) and the Lions got unlucky (with drops).  There was one element they cannot chalk up as an outlier: Goff’s issue with pressure is a common theme this year. And frankly, every year.  It’s one thing for a quarterback to struggle under pressure. Patrick Mahomes does. Tom Brady did. Every QB does. It’s another thing for that pressure to single-handedly take down the offense. That’s what happened Sunday night for the Lions.  This year is worse than other years for Goff.  In 2025, Goff has completed 45.8% of his passes (44/96) against pressure. His completion percentage over expected is -5.1%, his EPA per dropback is -.48 and his success percentage is 31.1%. Those are all career lows against pressure. To make matters worse, the Lions are surrendering pressure on 35.5% of Goff’s dropbacks, the second-highest rate of his Detroit tenure. More or less, there’s more pressure than ever and he’s handling it worse than ever.  It will be on head coach Dan Campbell — who's doubling as the offensive playcaller — to figure out how to 1) help his OL prevent pressure and then 2) help Goff handle that pressure more comfortably.  Because it might just be the Lions offense’s single biggest problem.):  https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/qb-stock-market-week-12-does-sam-darnold-have-big-game-complex
