Ranking the NFL’s most clutch players in 2025 by PFF grades and stats (Fourth Quarter (min. 50 snaps) - 3. EDGE Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions (91.9).  Hutchinson is virtually always unblockable, but especially so in a game’s last frame. His 30 total pressures are easily the most in the NFL in the fourth quarter, and his 5.0 sacks are second. The Michigan product has done so efficiently, amassing a 29.3% pass-rush win rate.  Red Zone (min. 50 snaps) - 1. T Penei Sewell, Detroit Lions (95.0).  Sewell is the league’s highest-graded player regardless of position (95.9), and he’s similarly outstanding inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. NFL Week 12: Rookie Team of the Week (Interior Offensive Line: Tate Ratledge, Detroit Lions – 71.5.  The Giants have one of the more formidable defensive lines in the league. but you wouldn’t know it if you just watched Ratledge’s tape against them in Week 12. Ratledge permitted just one pressure on 48 pass-blocking snaps while not recording a single negatively-graded run block. Biggest reason why these 11 contenders won't win Super Bowl (Detroit Lions: Playing from behind, outdoor games.  Like the Seahawks, the Lions are not built to play from behind. Nobody is, really, but their specific style of offense, with all the under-center play-action and misdirection at times feels like it can crumble under the weight of having to become a straight dropback operation when down by multiple scores in the second half. Against the Giants, you can win. But against real teams? The Lions also likely won't have the benefit of home-field advantage for much of the playoffs, even if they win the NFC North (and they're still a game behind). Five things we liked and didn't like from Week 12 (5 things we liked in Week 12 - Jahmyr Gibbs is a superstar - There were lots of huge individual performances in huge wins in Week 12. I wish I could shout them all out. Myles Garrett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and George Pickens are among the ones that would earn top billing if Jahmyr Gibbs didn't do what he did: 219 rushing yards, 45 receiving yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning 69-yarder on the first play of overtime.  The Lions needed every bit of it. Detroit's defense was a mess, getting picked apart by Jameis Winston. Jared Goff was up and down, once again looking shaky behind a shaky offensive line. Detroit trailed by 10 in the fourth quarter and was in danger of losing for the third time in four games.  Gibbs wouldn't let it happen. His 49-yard scamper to start the rally was even more impressive than the game winner.  Credit Dan Campbell for not abandoning the run when down. Credit the Lions for making Gibbs the clear feature back; he is playing over 62% of Detroit's offensive snaps this season, a career high, and played nearly 74% of the snaps against the Giants, his third-highest rate this season. DB Terrion Arnold: C.  As a rookie, Arnold flashed physicality and the playmaking ability we saw of the second half of his final year at Alabama, but he was also plagued with penalties, inconsistent technique and injuries. A shoulder injury and a concussion saw him miss three games so far in 2025, but he has shown improvement in coverage. I asked Aidan Hutchinson about the bumpier road on Sunday and the challenges posed by the coaching changes.
