The most underrated prospects in the 2022 NFL draft class (Wan'Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky - I have two smaller receivers on this list, and the more I’ve watched football over the last year or so, the more I’m estimating how NFL offenses can beat the increase of two-high coverages. One thing that comes to mind is the intelligent implementation of smaller, faster receivers who can make quick gains in underneath areas against coverages in which safeties are either both up post-snap, or spinning down. Robinson, who had 104 catches for 1,334 yards and seven touchdowns last season, has some Deebo Samuel characteristics to his game, and even though he’s 5-foot-8 and 178 pounds, he’s powerful enough to break tackles and make plays after contact. And certainly, he’s quick enough to make things happen — both underneath and in the open field. You’re not going to see Robinson as any NFL team’s X-iso guy, but in today’s NFL, where 3×1 sets are the norm, that’s hardly a handicap. You put this guy in the right offense, and good things are going to happen.) (4-27-22): https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/lists/2022-nfl-draft-underrated-players-sam-howell-roger-mccreary/
NFL Draft sleepers: 11 potential steals in 2022 include Sam Howell, Brian Robinson (Also watch: Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky. Robinson is small (5-8, 178 pounds), but he's a fast receiver who is great with the ball in his hands. The team that drafts Robinson needs to carve out a specialized role for him, but he will be able to play all over the field. Just don't ask him to be a true contested-catch receiver (despite his toughness).) (4-26-22): https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-draft-sleepers-steals-2022/edcgixonnt1wqquwrvocbxyy

5 Late-Round Wide Receivers for Lions to Target in 2022 Draft (2. Wan’Dale Robinson, Kentucky, 5-foot-11, 185 pounds - 2021 stats: 104 receptions, 1,334 yards (12.7 avg.), 7 touchdowns. Projected: Fourth-Round. Robinson is tough for a diminutive receiver and he has an ever stronger will. On film, showed a knack for catching touchdowns in the red zone and for really extending plays on his feet. He has some Deebo Samuel “wide back” look to his game. Robinson also recorded 141 college rushing attempts.) (4-15-22): https://www.si.com/nfl/lions/nfl/lions/news/five-late-round-wide-receivers-for-lions-to-target
2022 NFL draft: The top 16 receivers (14
Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky (Height: 5’8″ Weight: 178, 40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds, Vertical Jump: 34.5 inches, Broad Jump: 9’10”): Bio: It might be easier to list the positions Wan’Dale Robinson did not play in high school, rather than list those he did. At Western Hills High School in Frankfort, Kentucky, Robinson saw time at safety, linebacker, receiver, quarterback, running back and as a punt and kick returner. He originally committed to Kentucky, but eventually flipped to Nebraska. Robinson spent two years in Lincoln, catching 40 passes for 453 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and rushing for 340 yards on 88 carries as a true freshman. But after the 2020 campaign, he came back home, transferring to Kentucky. He stepped into the lead role as a receiver for the Wildcats, and caught 104 passes for 1,334 yards and seven touchdowns this past season. The reception and yardage numbers set new school records. Stat to Know: A big-play threat, Robinson averaged 15.9 yards per carry this past season, as he gained 111 rushing yards on just seven attempts. Strengths: Robinson is a home-run hitter out of the slot, with the ability to separate early in the down whether on quick-game concepts or late in the down on vertical routes. When given the advantage of the two-way go, he is tough for defenders to handle. He is confident at the catch point, and will extend his arms away from his frame and attack the ball in flight, rather than waiting for it to come to him. Kentucky found ways to manufacture touches for him, and with good results. Against New Mexico State he turned a tunnel screen into a huge play, and did the same against Florida, tuning a quick screen into a touchdown thanks to his explosiveness and change-of-direction skills after the catch. He also displayed good body control and the ability to adjust to off-target throws last season, on plays like this one against New Mexico State. While there is a breakdown in coverage, Robinson adjusts to the throw and complete the play, twisting his body back to the football for the reception. Weaknesses: Robinson is a slot receiver at the next level. Studying him you do see how he would benefit from having the two-way go off the line, and that was apparent in games like his outing against Tennessee where he saw more press-aligned defenders. Aggressive cornerbacks who were willing to take the fight to him, or who were longer and more physical, often swallowed him up off the line of scrimmage. Conclusion: Teams that are creative with his usage will find a role for him, through manufactured touches and getting him cleaner releases due to alignment and formation. Putting him exclusively on the boundary and hoping he wins against press-aligned defenders might be asking too much, but as a slot or off-ball receiver, Robinson can provide play-making skills as an offensive weapon. Comparison: Watching and studying Robinson reminded me of studying D’Wayne Eskridge when he was coming out of school, and there are similarities with play style and potential NFL roles between the two.) Lions 2022 NFL draft: A wide receiver for every round (Fourth round: Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky: Robinson is a diminutive dynamo. Just 5-foot-8 and 178 pounds and with the shortest arm length of any prospect in the entire draft regardless of position (27 inches), he’s lightning unleashed from a bottle with the ball in his hands. His playmaking ability transcended offensive style and QB play in transferring from Nebraska to Kentucky. Robinson is very elusive and quick-footed, able to escape would-be tacklers with an innate grace. He’s very limited by his size (or lack thereof) and isn’t blazing fast, but a creative offense can get him the ball on jet sweeps and bubble screens and let him operate in space. The Lions met with Robinson during the NFL scouting combine.) (3-29-22): https://lionswire.usatoday.com/lists/detroit-lions-2022-nfl-draft-wide-receiver-prospect-for-every-round/
2022 NFL Draft Stock - Post-Combine II (Down - Wan'Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky: Robinson is a love/hate prospect around the league, but it sounds like there are not enough teams in love to take him in the first round or the early portion of Round 2. Robinson could end up being a late second-round or early third-round pick according to team sources. Robinson dominated the SEC last year with special quickness and route-running, so he might end up being a steal from Day 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft.) 2022 NFL Draft: Ranking the top 17 WRs in this year’s class (Tier 4 - Wan’Dale Robinson (Kentucky), 5-foot-8, 178 pounds: It’s normal to measure in smaller than your listed size at school, but Robinson coming in a full three inches shorter than his listed height is concerning, but not surprising when you see him on the field. Robinson is electric and a perfect fit for any team looking for someone to fill a speedy slot/scatback type role. Round grade: 4th round) (3-17-22): https://www.prideofdetroit.com/2022/3/17/22961513/2022-nfl-draft-ranking-top-wide-receivers-tiers

2022 NFL Scouting Combine Winners and Losers by the Numbers: Offensive Positions (Wan’Dale Robinson and George Pickens were the combine flops according to WAR projections, as the former measured in small and slow while the latter has smaller than expected hand size and ran a slower 10-yard split than expected for someone with a 4.47-second 40-yard dash.) NFL Free Agency News and Rumors: Giants making push for QB and draft fallout from Combine (Kentucky receiver Wan’Dale Robinson ran much faster than expected in the 40-yard dash, timing under 4.40 seconds. He’s getting a lot of love in the scouting community. As I mentioned before the receiver took the field for Combine workouts, he’s drawing comparisons to Rondale Moore based on his size, quickness, and ability to create yardage after the catch. The Detroit Lions have shown a lot of interest in Robinson.) (3-5-22): https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-free-agency-news-and-rumors-giants-making-a-push-for-free-agent-qb/
2022 NFL Scouting Combine: Risers and fallers following quarterback, wide receiver and tight end drills (Fallers - Wan’Dale Robinson, Kentucky (40-yard dash: 4.44 seconds, Vertical jump: 34.5 inches, Broad jump: 9-foot-10): Robinson’s inclusion isn’t really even about his athletic testing — even though the numbers above are fairly middling for a gadget player. Instead, this is about Robinson’s frame, as his 27 5/8-inch arms will be the shortest among all drafted receiver from the last 30 years. A limited catch radius like that will it difficult to make plays outside his body and will definitely scare off some NFL teams.) The wide receivers at the NFL Combine were historically fast (Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky: 4.44s - Robinson lined up at running back and wideout for the Wildcats and Huskers in three NCAA seasons. On Thursday he showed he has the speed to be lethal from the backfield or slot.) (3-4-22): https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/2022-nfl-combine-wide-receiver-40-times-tyquan-thornton-so-dang-fast
5 Players who have the most to lose at the 2022 NFL Combine (5. Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky: He was listed at 5’11”, 185 pounds in college. But there are rumors that Wan’Dale Robinson‘s listed height may be as much as four inches over his actual measurement. Pictures of Robinson standing next to Alabama coach Nick Saban — who is 5’6″ — first sparked the movement. With Saban as a reference, Robinson appeared closer to 5’7″ or 5’8″. The NFL Combine will help to confirm the fears surrounding Robinson’s height. If he’s truly 5’7″, it could knock him off some teams’ boards. Even so, it won’t change my opinion of Robinson too much. His size has never been a large part of his game. Robinson wins by separating and with his twitchy, slippery run-after-catch ability. He doesn’t need to be 5’11” to be a RAC threat. If Robinson is 5’7″, then his weight is what truly bears watching. If he still weighs in around 185 pounds, that’s good density for a 5’7″ frame, and it should only help him carry on his success as a RAC threat at the next level.) 2022 scouting combine: WR measurements reveal some surprises (Wan'dale Robinson, Kentucky: Robinson was another case of seeing him in person in Indianapolis quickly dispelling his listed height. It was clear when he approached the podium that he wasn’t 5-foot-11, his listing with the Wildcats football program. It turns out Robinson is just 5-8. He also had incredibly short arms at under 28 inches long, a real detriment for a wideout. Robinson, a transfer from Nebraska, weighed in at 178 pounds, or seven pounds shy of his listed Kentucky weight, too.) 2022 NFL Combine Preview: Tight ends and wide receivers to watch include Isaiah Likely and Tyquan Thornton (Wan’Dale Robinson, Kentucky: Don’t expect a blazing 40 time from Wan’Dale Robinson — he’ll likely time in the low 4.5s to high 4.4s. Rather, look out for very fast shuttle and three-cone numbers. Also, keep a close eye on his route running during position drills and how fast he transitions upfield after making the catch. Robinson is drawing a lot of comparisons to Rondale Moore with his ability to run super quick routes and fire upfield after the catch.) NFL Combine: Sleeper prospects primed to shine in Indy (Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky: There is exactly zero buzz for Robinson right now. Why? Well, underclassmen like him -- who aren't at the Senior Bowl -- always slip through the cracks...until the combine. Robinson was sandwiched between Jameson Williams and John Metchie atop the SEC receiving yard list in 2021, and he caught 104 passes. Traits-wise, Robinson was built to play in today's NFL. He's smaller, but ultra-sudden with acceleration to turn jukes into touchdowns. Based on his film, Robinson feels like a prospect who's going to erupt in the agility drills in Indianapolis then land on the second day of the draft and be a stud quickly in the NFL. ) (3-1-22): https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2022-nfl-combine-sleeper-prospects-at-every-position-primed-to-have-big-workouts-in-indianapolis/
NFL Combine preview: 15 wide receivers the Lions should be watching (Wan’Dale Robinson (Kentucky, 5-foot-10, 185) Suggested by Erik. Not quite as quick as Rondale Moore and not quite as strong as Deebo Samuel, but he’s a fun combination of the two. He can be used out of the slot, on screens, as a vertical threat, and out of the backfield. There would be a lot of crossover traits between him and St. Brown, but his pure speed and ability to separate makes him a legitimate complement piece. Fun fact: Liam Coen, who is expected to be named Rams’ offensive coordinator (and was a Rams’ assistant coach in L.A. when Lions’ general manager Brad Holmes was there), was Robinson’s offensive coordinator last season.) Top 15 2022 NFL Draft prospect performances in 2021 college football bowl games (7. WR WAN’DALE ROBINSON, KENTUCKY WILDCATS (PFF Grade: 86.9) - Opponent: IOWA. Robinson finished his breakout junior campaign with a bang, hauling in 10 passes for 170 yards in the Wildcats' 20-17 victory. Over his final five games in 2021, the shifty slot receiver caught 46 passes for 689 yards.) (1-13-22): https://www.pff.com/news/draft-top-2022-nfl-draft-prospect-performances-2021-bowl-games
2022 NFL Draft Stock - Post-New Year's Bowls (Up - Wan'Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky: Robinson could be a potential first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and his performance against Iowa provided NFL evaluators with another tape that displays his excellent speed and playmaking ability. In the second quarter on a third-and-26 against the Hawkeyes, Robinson ran a vertical route out of the slot and got open for a 34-yard gain with an over-the-shoulder catch. On another third-and-long, this one in the fourth quarter, Robinson drew a pass interference from All-American corner Riley Moss, who was holding and draped all over him. Late in the fourth quarter, Robinson caught a slant on a third-and-10 for a 17-yard gain, and he took a massive shot but managed to hold onto the ball. With just two minutes remaining around mid-field and the Wildcats down by four, Robinson made the play of the game. He ran a corner post from the slot and caught the ball around the 30-yard line. He made a superb juke move on a tackler at the 20, dodged another at the five, and was tackled at the one-yard line. It was a 52-yard gain on what could have been the last reception of Robinson's Kentucky career. He finished the Citrus Bowl with 10 passes for 170 yards. His performance against Iowa could help make Robinson a first-rounder if he enters the 2022 NFL Draft.) (1-4-22): https://walterfootball.com/draft2022stock_18.php
NFL Hot Press: Wan'Dale Robinson Love/Hate Prospect (12-20-21): https://walterfootball.com/nflhotpress/article/Wan'Dale-Robinson-Has-LoveHate-Potential
2022 NFL Draft Stock - Pre-Bowls I (Up - Wan'Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky: Robinson has been phenomenal for Kentucky in 2021, catching 94 passes for 1,164 yards and seven touchdowns. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder transferred from Nebraska after the 2020 season and took the SEC by storm. Some team sources feel Robinson is a better version of Brandin Cooks. Like Cooks, Robinson is an outside speed receiver who is a threat to burn defenses vertically. Robinson is similar to Tyreek Hill, but just not as fast. Some sources think Robinson could be a better version of Cooks in the NFL.) (12-14-21): https://walterfootball.com/draft2022stock_15.php
2022 NFL Draft Rumors: Senior Bowl roster stacks up talent (What are your thoughts on a couple of WR prospects: Nebraska’s Samori Toure and Kentucky’s Wan’Dale Robinson? Robinson is a guy who times well in the 40-yard dash but doesn’t always translate that speed onto the field. He’s been productive, but he has a thin frame. I could see him ending up in the late rounds if he enters the draft.) (11-24-21): https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2022-nfl-draft-rumors-senior-bowl-roster-stacks-up-talent/
2022 NFL Draft Sleepers: Nicholas Petit-Frere, David Ojabo rising in Big Ten (Kentucky WR Wan’Dale Robinson: Ironically, our next 2022 NFL Draft sleeper is a wide receiver who transferred away from Nebraska. Wan’Dale Robinson has been the lifeblood of Kentucky’s passing offense so far. He’s a much smaller receiver than Toure at just 5’11”, 185 pounds, but he’s been an electric, versatile playmaker in 2021. He has great speed and explosiveness in the open field, but he’s also agile, well-balanced, and a home-run threat at any level. If you’re looking for the next Kadarius Toney, Robinson can be that guy.) (10-16-21): https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2022-nfl-draft-sleepers-nicholas-petit-frere-david-ojabo-rising-in-big-ten/
Detroit Lions 2022 draft watch: 12 prospects to watch this Saturday (Kentucky (11) at Georgia (1) at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS - Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky (Junior) 5-foot-9.5, 185 pounds: There were a lot of Lions fans who were begging the team to draft Purdue slot receiver Rondale Moore in the 2020 draft—the Arizona Cardinals grabbed him at pick No. 49 in the second round. If you were one of those fans, you need to get to know Wan’Dale Robinson. A threat to score with the ball in his hands, Robinson is shifty laterally and explosive in all directions. He possesses speed, quickness, and is a YAC monster because of his ability to completely change directions on his routes/runs at full speed. Robinson’s offensive coordinator at Kentucky is Liam Coen, who spent three years with the Los Angeles Rams as an assistant wide receivers coach (2018-19), assistant quarterbacks coach (2020), and has a clear connection to Lions general manager Brad Holmes. It wouldn't be surprising at all if Holmes took advantage of that relationship and has already reached out to get information about Robinson.) 2022 NFL draft midseason winners and losers: 3 QBs moving up, 4 trending down (Winners - Kentucky WR Wan’Dale Robinson: Mostly a running back by trade at Nebraska, Robinson has been transformed into a Randall Cobb-ish role with the Wildcats — and it has been a resounding success. His production has simmered the past few games, but he remains a valued piece of the offense that opponents have tried to take away weekly. Robinson looks like a starting slot receiver in the NFL with great yards-after-the-catch ability who can also be used as a runner and punt returner.) College Football Wide Receiver Rankings 2021: Nevada, Memphis break through (7) Wan’Dale Robinson, Kentucky: Avoid Wan’Dale Robinson at all costs, lest you lose your ankles. The highly-coveted Nebraska transfer has been perhaps the most important piece in Kentucky’s offensive revitalization this year. He’s quickly become a favorite target of quarterback Will Levis. Five games in, Robinson has 29 catches for 467 yards and 3 scores — with much of those yards coming after the catch. Robinson is a weapon with the ball in his hands, plain and simple. His deadly lateral suddenness and explosive capacity are reminiscent of Kadarius Toney from a year prior. Robinson can attack and destroy tackling angles with one quick motion. Making those cuts is as natural as breathing to him. With his speed and voracious RAC ability, Robinson remains one of the greatest threats for SEC defenses.) 2022 NFL draft: Emerging QB prospects face off in Friday Pac-12 showdown (Kentucky WR Wan’Dale Robinson: Robinson really has blossomed with the Wildcats as a receiver after transferring from Nebraska, where he mostly was used as a running back. He’s adapted to his slot-heavy role quite well, showing explosive ability to get down the seam but also to take short catches (such as last week vs. Florida) and turning them into healthy yards after the catch. The LSU secondary is shorthanded, having lost CB Derek Stingley Jr. to what could be a lengthy injury. But with Eli Ricks outside and Cordale Flott in the slot, the Tigers have two talented DBs who could spend time trying to check Robinson. Look for the Wildcats to move Robinson around the formation quite a bit. He’ll line up outside on occasion and remains a threat as a runner on jet sweeps (four rushes, 78 yards). He’s tough to tackle, has good speed and even better elusiveness. In a receiver class that’s good but hardly at the level of the past two draft lots, Robinson has a chance to emerge as a valuable weapon.) 2022 NFL Draft Stock - Week 5 (Up - Wan'Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky: Robinson has been huge for the Wildcats in 2021, providing some clutch plays during their 5-0 start. He has some serious speed to stretch defenses and threaten them downfield. Robinson has 29 catches for 467 yards and three touchdowns this season. In 2020 and 2019, Robinson played at Nebraska, but he has taken his play to another level this season.) (10-5-21): https://walterfootball.com/draft2022stock_05.php
2022 NFL Draft WR Watch: Chris Olave rebounds (Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky: Stock Up - Robinson's score was of the And 1 variety. Burst with a filthy crossover midway through the scamper. On the call, Dan Orlovsky described Robinson having "absolute juice" with the ball in his hands. He's right. Robinson is a blast of a gadget type. He finished with four catches for 65 yards and the score in Kentucky's huge, upset win over Florida.) 2022 NFL Draft WR Watch: USC's Drake London shining (Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky: Stock Up - The Wildcats needed all eight catches and 111 yards from Robinson in their contest against Chattanooga on Saturday. After catching the first throw of the game, Robinson got loose on a deep corner route early in the second quarter. He sold the inside break gorgeously before breaking toward the sideline. The Nebraska transfer is one of the shiftier wideouts with easy change-of-direction capabilities in all of college football.) 2022 NFL Draft: Stingley's SEC's best; Bama, UGA loaded (3. WAN’DALE ROBINSON, KENTUCKY: It’ll be interesting to see how Kentucky utilizes the Nebraska transfer after adopting a new offensive scheme. Regardless, he’s going to provide a spark to the Wildcats' offense. He is a proven weapon as a ball-carrier and an even better receiver. Over the past two years at Nebraska, the 5-foot-10 receiver has produced an 87.2 receiving grade and hauled in 10 of his 12 contested-catch opportunities. He has averaged over nine yards after the catch while breaking 11 tackles on 57 underneath receptions. Robinson also boasts some impressive wheels, makes crisp cuts and isn't afraid to absorb big hits over the middle of the field. He went from receiving 46% of his passing snaps from the slot in 2019 at Nebraska to 71.8% in 2020.)
