Brown Would Look Like (Then, you have a group of guys that includes Missouri’s Zion Young, Auburn’s Keldric Faulk, Texas A&M’s Cashius Howell, Oklahoma’s R Mason Thomas and Clemson’s T.J. Parker, an edge rusher who just wrapped up his third year with the Tigers. Similarly to Woods, Parker was a highly-touted high school recruit out of Alabama, and had a dominant sophomore season that put him in Top-10 pick conversations ahead of the 2025 season.  After recording just five sacks in 2025 to 11 his sophomore season, and 25 fewer tackles as an upperclassman, Parker, too, has fallen on many draft boards. As of early April, CBS Sports still has Parker No. 23 on its board, but he has fallen to the second round in several other projections, including one by NFL.com.  “Parker was projected to be a top-10 player coming into the season, and he didn’t live up to that,” a story by Nate Christensen of Yahoo Sports said. “His 2025 tape showed some of the limitations of his ceiling.”  Still, Christensen notes that Parker’s ceiling could be higher than many scouts realize. Parker, Clemson:  SackSEER projection: 23.1 sacks through Year 5.  Scouts Inc. ranking: 17.  Similar historical prospects: Robert Quinn, Yetur Gross-Matos.  Parker regressed to just five sacks as a junior in 2025 after having 11 as a sophomore in 2024, but that might make him undervalued entering this year's draft. There is a history of edge rushers who dominate as sophomores and then take a step back as juniors once opponents give them more attention.  Not to directly compare Parker to the best defensive player in the NFL, but Myles Garrett is an example, as he went from 12.5 sacks as a sophomore to 8.5 as a junior. Parker, Clemson:  Clemson, as it has done for many years, has multiple highly-touted defensive linemen in consideration for the early portions of the draft. The athletic, heavy-handed Parker joins defensive tackle Peter Woods in the top-25 of this big board. Parker might not have the super athletic traits to end up as a perennial 10-sack player in the NFL, but he has the chance to at least be a plus starter on quality defensive lines in the future. 2026 NFL Combine results: 5 winners from the edge rusher group (T.J. Parker, Clemson (6-foot-4, 263):  With a 1.61/4.68 10/40 yard-dash split, a 34-inch vertical jump, and a 10-foot broad jump, Parker landed a top-5 athleticism score amongst the edge rushers participating at the Combine.  Despite NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah projecting the Lions to select Parker at No. 17 in his most recent mock draft, I still held some reservations about Parker after a season of regression at Clemson. His performance at the Combine helped calm those concerns. Parker was a smooth flower in on-field drills, showing balance, control, and quick feet throughout the day. In pass rush drills, he married his hands and feet, demonstrated a quick strike, gained ground in a hurry, showed a controlled spin and dip, and speed when bending the corner. He did bend at the waist at times, which slowed his speed, but overall, he’s a very athletic mover. Lastly, he participated in linebacker drills, illustrating he could drop in space if needed, but it was not a skill he could pull off regularly.) DJ is not alone in that projection either, as Parker–or perhaps more correctly, Parker’s agent–has done a great job of rebuilding his draft stock. Entering the 2025 college season, it wasn’t uncommon to see Parker as the first defensive player projected for the 2026 Draft. He exploded in 2024, his true sophomore season, with 20 TFLs, 11.5 sacks and 6 forced fumbles in a breakout sophomore season. Draft momentum cooled when Parker, like most of the Clemson team, didn’t fare as well in 2025 (9.5 TFLs, 5 sacks in 12 games). He looked a little sluggish and tighter through the ankles and hips last fall.  The 2024 version of Parker reemerged at the Senior Bowl, where he was unblockable in practice. He appeared to have trimmed a little weight and worked on his snap timing, and the 21-year-old wore that very well. Taking him at 17, which is probably higher than he’ll be ranked by most every draft analyst, is a bet that the Lions can consistently coax out the dynamic sophomore and make everyone forget about the less sizzly junior.) Parker, EDGE, Clemson (6-foot-4, 263).  Parker entered the season near the top of most analysts’ edge rusher rankings, but like most Clemson defensive linemen, the disaster that was 2025 has necessitated some image rehabilitation. Working in Parker’s favor is that his 2024 tape was highly impressive—11 sacks, 19.5 tackles for loss, and six forced fumbles—and his performance at the Senior Bowl has reminded evaluators of his potential.  Parker’s power shows up all over his game. Several of his pass rush moves lean on his strength, and he uses power to set a firm edge; it’s arguably the best in this draft class. With his hand usage, he can stack-and-shed to stay clean, disrupt linemen from their path, and drive offensive linemen back into the quarterback. He has a lethal speed-to-power long arm, but needs to have better counter/secondary moves when that doesn’t work. While he has the quickness to take advantage of guards when pushing inside and the awareness to track players out of the backfield, he lacks the long speed to chase down ball carriers.  Overall, NFL teams will want to know whether Parker’s ceiling is closer to 2024 or whether 2025 better reflects how he will perform at the next level.) What I learned from candid conversations with Taylen Green, T.J. Parker and others during Senior Bowl week (T.J. Parker, it turns out, is still That Dude.  After a dominant 2024 season was followed up by a quieter-by-his-standards 2025, Clemson edge-rusher T.J. Parker understands how narratives can change when production does not meet the expectations.  "Honestly, in 2024 I made a lot more plays that in 2025 a lot of other guys made," Parker told me. "That just comes with having great talent around you. Sometimes the ball just rolls that way."  Parker had just five sacks in 2025, compared to 11 in 2024, as Clemson's defense -- loaded with three preseason first-round picks -- was one of the biggest disappointments in football. Defensive tackle Peter Woods has seen his stock slip some, as has cornerback Avieon Terrell. Still, all members of the trio still rank among the top 20 prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft. Perhaps trying to prove a point, Parker participated in all three practices down in Mobile. That is uncommon in today's pre-draft process, where sure-fire first-round picks either dominate the first session and head for the airport, or pull out of the game altogether because they feel they don't have a whole hell of a lot to prove. "It was my first time playing football since November," he said. "I was eager to just put the cleats on and run. I had some fun ... and I'm just excited to keep stacking days." Parker's calling card remains explosiveness, power and a refined pass-rush technique. 2025 Senior Bowl Recap, Day 1: Standouts, draft risers and more (It's time to talk about Clemson‘s T.J. Parker in the first round again.  Parker’s draft stock has been intriguing to monitor this past season. He went into the year as a projected top-15 pick, but he wasn't as consistent or impactful this year as he was in 2024, earning run-defense and pass-rush grades in the 70.0s instead of the 80.0s like before  – which felt like a theme for basically every Clemson player, so it wasn’t just him. 2026 NFL Draft: Matchups to watch at the Panini Senior Bowl (OT Gennings Dunker vs. Edge T.J. Parker:  Dunker will be one to watch in Mobile as he’s expected to take reps at both tackle and guard, giving scouts a clearer picture of where his long-term home may be at the next level. The projected top-40 pick has been dominant as Iowa’s right tackle over the past two seasons, earning an elite 90.0 PFF grade over that span, highlighted by an 89.8 run-blocking mark.  While Clemson endured a disappointing 2025 campaign, Parker remained a bright spot on the Tigers’ defense. Jones, Parker Collect ACC Weekly Honors (CLEMSON, S.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that safety Ricardo Jones (ACC Defensive Back of the Week) and defensive end T.J. Parker (ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week) each collected ACC weekly honors for their performances in Clemson’s 28-14 rivalry win at South Carolina on Saturday.  The award-winning duo of Jones and Parker helped push Clemson’s road winning streak in its series with South Carolina to six games. The Tigers have now garnered a total of 592 ACC weekly awards since 1968, including six this season.  Parker earned his first ACC weekly honor of the season and the third of his career in recognition of his four tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and a fumble recovery in the victory. Clemson's T.J. Parker and Auburn's Keldric Faulk have all the traits in the world and have shown they can get to the QB. Parker had 11 sacks in 2024 and shows speed-to-power. Faulk had seven sacks in 2024 and wins with inside and outside moves. But neither has produced much in 2025.  Faulk is stuck at two sacks through 12 games, and Parker needed a three-sack performance against South Carolina on Saturday to get to five on the season. Their evaluations are going to remind folks of Shemar Stewart in the leadup to this year's draft -- great skill set, questionable production. 2026 NFL Draft: College Game Recaps – Week 6 (Clemson defensive end T.J. Parker has been disappointing this season and has not been the pass-rushing force that many thought he would be. However, the entire Clemson team has been a massive disappointment on the field. After their bye week, the Tigers were looking to reset and get back on track for the back half of the season. Going back to basics helped Parker as he played well against North Carolina.  Late in the first quarter, Parker had a nice series that started on second down when he worked off the block from the left tackle and took down the running back for a loss of a yard. The next play, Parker fired past the left tackle and powered into the running back to get penetration into the backfield to force Max Johnson to scramble and throw incomplete on third down. Late in the second quarter, Parker worked off the right tackle to take down Johnson for a sack as he climbed the pocket.  For the NFL, Parker has starter ability, but he needs to get more consistent. Parker could stand to play with more effort and urgency. He has some functional strength to fight off blocks, speed to get upfield, and the ability to win with power or strength.
