2026 NFL Draft: Ioane Expected Top 15, Pregnon and Bisontis Racing for OG2 and Rutledge as a Sleeper (After Ioane, Emmanuel Pregnon, and Chase Bisontis are neck and neck to end up as OG2, and both could land in the bottom half of the first round. The landing spot for both players is between selections 26 and 38, unless the Los Angeles Chargers pull a surprise with the 22nd pick.  The Chargers’ depth chart at guard is weak and could use an upgrade for this season, as well as moving forward. After cutting Mekhi Becton in the offseason, a story we broke at EssentiallySports from the Shrine Bowl this past January, the team extended Trevor Penning for one year ($4.5 million) and signed free agent Cole Strange (two years, $13 million). They will address the guard position in the draft; it’s just a matter of when.  Los Angeles individually worked out Pregnon, and he’s definitely a Harbaugh-type blocker, hence selecting him with the 22nd pick is not out of the question. The Chargers have also been taking a close look at Bisontis.  The next potential first-round spot for Bisontis is the Buffalo Bills at pick No. 26. People question whether Alec Anderson, whom the team signed in 2022 as an undrafted free agent, can hold up at guard for 17 games. In two seasons on the active roster, Anderson has started six games.  The New England Patriots like both players and are bringing in Pregnon next week for an official-30 visit, but they were blocked from bringing Bisontis to their facility due to time constraints the Texas A&M junior is dealing with.) Lions Draft: An interior OL for every round (Second round: Chase Bisontis, Texas A&M - A personal favorite, Bisontis likely cemented himself in the top 75 picks with an impressive Combine–notably the on-field position drills. He’s very quick and agile for a 315-pounder, and he’s got the best natural pass-protection technique of any guard in this draft. Bisontis moved to left guard in 2024 after primarily playing right tackle in 2023, and his pass-blocking skills reflect his tenure at tackle. Short arms and happy feet make Bisontis a much better guard than tackle. He’s almost the polar opposite of Ioane; Bisontis doesn’t displace anyone in the run game, but rather walls off holes with quick feet and excellent hip/shoulder coordination. He can adeptly slide and pick up second-level rushers with confidence. Though he’s not a power pig, there is some grit to Bisontis’ game. His consistent ability to engage and lock up defenders in space and off combo blocks would fit nicely in Detroit.) The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder dazzled in drills, displaying outstanding balance, body control and agility working in space. Bisontis’ textbook technique matched the near-perfect form he consistently displays on tape. 2026 NFL Draft: The ideal haul for every team in the first three rounds (Detroit Lions: EDGE Akheem Mesidor, G Chase Bisontis - The Lions’ defense regressed down the stretch last season, with a lack of a secondary pass-rusher a major culprit. Even though he’ll be 25 on draft night, Mesidor would fit the Lions’ win-now mindset and form a dynamic duo with Aidan Hutchinson.  Detroit also should look into bettering its interior offensive line with an early pick. With a thick frame, Bisontis is a well-rounded athlete who is strong, aggressive, tough, and technically sound.  In pass protection, Bisontis has a fast first step, quick feet, and a smooth kick slide. His lack of length can show up against speed pass rushers, as he can get caught lunging at his target. Six Aggies Selected to Media Preseason All-SEC Team (BIRMINGHAM – Six Texas A&M football players earned Preseason All-SEC distinction following a vote by the media in attendance at SEC Media Days in Atlanta the week, the league office announced Friday. Running back Le'Veon Moss earned first team honors, while offensive linemen Ar'maj Reed-Adams and Trey Zuhn III along with defensive back Will Lee III were named to the second team. Offensive lineman Chase Bisontis and linebacker Taurean York landed on the third team.  Bisontis, Reed-Adams and Zuhn helped pave the way for an Aggie rushing attack that ranked 26th in the nation and second in the SEC with 195.5 yards per game in 2024. The trio anchored an offensive line that helped the Aggies post 450-plus yards in five games, including 300-plus yards rushing in consecutive games for the first time since 2012. The group cleared the way for a 99- and 92-yard scoring drive at Florida, marking a first time since 2007 the Aggies recorded multiple 90-yard drives in a game.
