Week 11 Predictions

PFN Rolfe (Jacksonville Jaguars at Detroit Lions (-13) - The Detroit Lions survived their mini implosion on Sunday Night Football in Houston, sneaking out with a win at the buzzer. They now head home to face a Jacksonville Jaguars team that could be without Trevor Lawrence for the second straight week. The Lions are the superior team in almost every facet of the game, with the Jaguars having a minor edge on special teams. Detroit has proven before to sweep bad teams aside, and that is what Jacksonville is.  The Jaguars’ defense ranks 30th this season, and their offense is just 16th. And that was with Lawrence under center for the majority of the year.  Laying 13 points is tough, but we saw the Lions sweep aside the Cowboys (47-9) and Titans (52-14), who are similar-level teams to the Jaguars. Lions vs. Jaguars prediction, odds: Detroit opens as big favorite at home (Lions vs. Jaguars prediction for Week 11 game - Even though the Lions had a subpar performance for their standards, they still beat a division leader on the road in primetime. Even with the win, the Lions, particularly the offense, will be motivated to get back on track after struggling at the line of scrimmage against Houston's front. Jacksonville has some talent up front in Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen that could cause some issues, but I expect Detroit to handle them and be more consistent in clearing running alleys. After facing one of the best quarterbacks they'll see this year in C.J. Stroud, they now go to the worst they will face in Jones, who became a backup before the end of his first-round rookie contract. Detroit's defense, which is flying on all cylinders right now, should have no issues. The Lions are 2-0 against the AFC South this year, with one blowout and one thrilling comeback, and they should get back to the former against the Jaguars. SN Iyer (Jaguars at Lions (-13, 47.5 o/u) - The Jaguars are one more really bad loss away from sealing the fate of coach Doug Pederson, and it could definitely come in this unfriendly feline trip to the Lions' den. The Lions' offense survived a frustrating night in Houston and will be ready to explode vs. a weak defense in every which way. SN Bender (Jacksonville Jaguars at Detroit Lions (-13) - This is tied for the highest spread of the season and the fifth double-digit spread in the NFL this year. The favorite is 3-1 ATS in that situation so far, and Detroit has won its past two home games by an average of 20.5 points per game. Jacksonville has three one-score losses on the road, but they also lost 47-10 at Buffalo. Sometimes I'll make the big underdog a best bet, while other times I'll hammer the favorite. I think this is a situation where we hammer the favorite.  This is the biggest number we've seen in the NFL this year, but for good reason. Mac Jones is again starting in place of the injured Trevor Lawrence, and he's 0-9 SU and ATS in his past nine starts as a road underdog. Yes, taking a team -14 is scary, but the Lions own the best point differential in the NFL this year (+113). Plus, did you know double-digit favorites are 4-0 ATS this season? And I made three of those double-digit favorites best bets! That includes taking the Lions to cover 11.5 vs. the Titans earlier this year.
